Despite being poorly on her holidays Molly has still managed to spend some quality time in our garden, which we love, and hope you can see in the first few photos…. Followed by some lovely photos of her enjoying our days out when she could. We hope you can take a couple of minutes to look through the photos and share our enjoyment of the simple things in life that can give you so much enjoyment and relaxation.

So I wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to share our Molly’s health problems with her eyes during our holiday on my business page. But I decided that it was appropriate because Love Your Pets is more than a business….. we are a family and we support each other through all of our pet’s health and behaviour difficulties. We have had a roller coaster of a holiday. Due to a shortage of the vital eye drops she needs for her dry eye condition she ended up suffering an ulcer in her eye at the start of our holiday. We have had days where she’s been unwell and then days when she’s been well enough to have days out together which she absolutely loves. She amazed us by recovering very quickly from the first ulcer and then we were devastated when she developed a second ulcer. She has been well enough though to have a couple of lovely days out with us again and just loved it. But then today she has made us so proud. Despite having her own issues she was so happy to come to her favourite pub for lunch Keel Row Seaton Delaval and she melted our hearts when a lady who had just lost her dog yesterday asked if she could see Molly to give her some comfort. The lady was naturally feeling emotional and Molly picked up on that and gently gave her cuddles and comforting kisses. Then a baby saw her and was grinning as he loves dogs and Molly was very gentle with him and gave him a very gentle cuddle and the baby loved it. Molly is such a beautiful girl that she has picked up on human emotions and knew exactly how to respond despite not having a great time herself at the moment. Bless her. We love our Molly so much and we love our Love Your Pets family just the same

Our beautiful Molly has really enjoyed being out with us for a couple of days on our holiday having picnics and enjoying lovely walks after recovering from her ulcer in her eye. But we are gutted that she woke up yesterday with a very sore eye so a trip to the veterinary vision clinic confirmed she has developed another ulcer in her eye which is bigger and more at risk of going further into her cornea. We are still doing our best to stop this happening but our hearts break when we see her in so much pain and yet the beautiful soul she is made her realise I was feeling upset that I couldn’t get her eye comfortable and she spent all of her time giving me kisses to comfort me when it was her that was in so much pain, and also still go into the clinic giving all of the staff cuddles. We’re doing everything we can but the vet explained that once an ulcer has formed, it weakens the eye in the first few days allowing further ulcers to form so we’re praying that she can fend this one off like she did the last one. Go Molly you’ve got this with your treatment and we’ve got your back to help you heal again

We would like to say a big thank you to everybody who sent Molly get well messages last weekend when she was poorly with an ulcer in her eye. We were heartbroken this happened to her due to a lack of the eye drops she needs for her dry eye condition but you just have to get on with it. She’s had a rough time but due to the fast treatment of our vets and the Veterinary Vision clinic we’re delighted that the ulcer has already healed!! She’s still got some inflammation and pain so her eyes are still vulnerable to further ulcers but we can’t believe how quick her ulcer has healed. We’ve managed to take her out a couple of days at the end of this week with a military operation to keep all of her drops and painkillers stored at the correct temperature and follow the medication regime the clinic set us while we were out but we managed to keep her happy and well so she had a brilliant time. Today we have enjoyed a picnic and a walk at Cragside (In the rain and in a thunderstorm as you do when you have your holiday in Britain) But we’ve all had a great day and our holiday starts here. We’re the three musketeers who won’t let Molly’s horrible eye condition stop her from enjoying life to the full with her mam and dad

Molly has been looking forward to her holiday with mam and dad relaxing in the garden and going for days out enjoying the countryside. But instead she has been poorly with an ulcer in her eye. She suffers from the condition known as dry eye where she can’t produce her own tears and relies on her mam and dad to keep her eyes lubricated and not inflamed using the various eye drops prescribed by the wonderful Veterinary Vision clinic who take such great care of her. Unfortunately one of her eye drops that are vital to her became suddenly unavailable and mam and dad have been struggling to keep her eyes comfortable with an alternative which hasn’t been working so well for her which has resulted in her ending up with an ulcer in her eye. Mam and dad have been really scared of this happening with the added complication that her other medication could make an ulcer worse if it was continued if an ulcer started to form, and could make it deeper in the cornea resulting in her needing her eye removed. Luckily though mam and dad and the clinic and her own vets have acted quickly and have caught it early at the front of her eye and it should heal in time with the right treatment without the need for surgery. Mam and dad are so thankful she’s hopefully not going to need surgery and are doing everything they can to keep her comfortable while her eye heals. Mam struggles every day to balance Molly’s eye care with everything else life throws at you and has total empathy with any of our customers and pet owners in general who are struggling with their beloved pets health and routine needs. In the meantime we hope Molly can get well enough soon to enjoy some of her holiday with mam and dad
