🐕 Does your dog pull like a train on the lead?
📣 Do you find yourself shouting their name… with zero response?
😬 Barking, lunging, or growling at other dogs, people, or objects on walks?
🙈 Jumping all over you (and your guests) when someone walks through the door?
You’re not alone — and your dog isn’t being “naughty”.
✨ Your dog is trying to tell you something.
They might be over-excited, fearful, frustrated, or simply unsure what’s expected of them. Dogs don’t have words, so they communicate through behaviour… and sometimes those behaviours can feel overwhelming, frustrating, or even scary for us.
That’s where I come in 💛
Hi, I’m Emily Neate, a Victoria Stilwell Academy Certified Dog Trainer, and I’m passionate about helping people truly understand their dogs. Together, we work with your dog (not against them) to build calm, manageable behaviours that make everyday life easier and more enjoyable for both of you.
🐾 Positive methods
🐾 Kind, clear communication
🐾 Real-life solutions that actually work
If you’re ready to enjoy walks again, welcome guests without chaos, and feel confident with your canine companion, I’d love to help.

Today I met with Teddy and his human to see how his progress with his reactivity has been progressing. There have been some major improvements but also a couple of wobbly moments. With reactivity it’s important to remember that like us dogs have good days and some bad days and that occasionally what we perceive as achievable may not be achievable for them.
In this photo you can see Teddy demonstrating docking or paws up. This is a great method to use as an alternative to lunging, barking and reacting. It gives dogs something different to focus on. Gets them on a raised surface away from dogs and can make dogs feel a little safer and more secure as they are above the perceived fret. Teddy and his human aced this training method today and out of about 9-12 dogs we saw on our walk Teddy only reacted once. And this was because the situation was quite a difficult one with three large dogs at close proximity.
I am very proud of Teddy and his human they are both working very hard and Teddy’s owner is excellent at handling his reactivity. 🎉🥳🐾🦮

Late evening, wood land, soggy walk for Tilly today. Far too hot to go out earlier. Looks like crack of Dawn and evening walks for the rest of the week. And some mental enrichment. ☺️
