Some dogs find grooming scary.. the noise, the dryers, the clippers, the strange smells. It’s understandable that it’s a lot to take in.

So if you’re dog starts acting out of sorts.. It’s not bad behaviour; it’s just fear they haven’t learned how to manage yet.

That’s why at Hawkins & Hound .. we take things slow. We let them explore the salon at their own pace.

We talk to them calmly. We use gentle handling and regular breaks.

We make sure every experience ends on a positive note.. even if it’s just a cuddle or treat.

We never want to rush them through a groom we want to build trust, one appointment at a time 🤞🏼⭐️

and that doesn’t include any add ons like teeth cleaning. Sometimes customers are surprised when we book out 2–2.5 hours to groom their dog.. but every step of the process takes time, care and patience. I’ll never rush your dog’s groom.
Every dog is different.. coat type, behaviour, size, and condition all play a part in how long a groom takes.
