With the colder, cosier months quickly approaching (how did that happen?! 🍂😱), it's time to find our next Cover Star! 🌟

This month's themes are:

🌈🐾 Rainbow Bridge Memorial Day 🐾🌈
Today, we pause to remember the much-loved companions who are no longer by our side, but who will forever remain in our hearts. 💙

Firstly, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who shared photos of their beloved pets with us in memory of those who have passed. We were honoured to receive them and to be trusted with helping to celebrate and remember their lives. 🥹❤️

We've done our very best to include every precious pet that was sent to us in this special collage. Each face represents a life that was deeply cherished, each paw print a journey that meant the world to a family, and each one a much-missed companion who will never be forgotten. 🌈🐾

As veterinary professionals, we are privileged to walk alongside you through every stage of your pets’ lives—from those first puppy and kitten visits, through years of care and companionship, and finally, to the moment we must say goodbye. These bonds stay with us always, and we remember every single one. ❤️

We hope this tribute offers a moment of reflection and remembrance, and serves as a gentle reminder that the love shared with our pets does not end when they pass. It continues to live on in the memories we hold so dearly. 🌈✨

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Sarah and Katie to the practice for some fantastic physiotherapy CPD with our team! 🩺✨

Continued learning is such an important part of veterinary medicine, helping our team expand their knowledge and ultimately provide even more support to the pets in our care. 🐶🐱💙

And we're not finished yet! We're already looking forward to welcoming Sarah and Katie back for another session, where we'll be getting stuck into some hands-on practical skills. 🙌🐾

🌞🐾 Bank Holiday Weekend Starts Tomorrow! 🐾🌞
Just a little reminder that the August Bank Holiday weekend is almost here! 🎉

If your pet is running low on any medication, now is the perfect time to check your cupboards. 💊🐶🐱

📞 If you need a repeat prescription, please make sure you've ordered it and collected it before we close on Saturday, so your pet has everything they need over the long weekend.

🏥 Our practices will be:
✅ Open as normal Friday and Saturday
❌ Closed on Monday (Bank Holiday)
✅ Back open as usual on Tuesday

💙 Although our doors will be closed on Monday, our dedicated 24/7 on-call team will still be here for any emergencies, so you can rest assured your pets are never without veterinary care should they need us.

Whether you're planning a day out, a staycation, or simply enjoying an extra day with your four-legged friends, we hope you all have a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend! ☀️🐾

⛈️⚡ Thunderbolts and lightning…very, very frightening! ⚡⛈️..especially when you're a dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig wondering WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON OUT THERE?! 😳🐾

With thunderstorms around, here are a few ways to help your pets ride out the storm safely:

🐰 Bring small furries indoors where possible – thunder, lightning and heavy rain can be pretty scary when you're only little! If they can't come inside, make sure their housing is secure and well sheltered.

🐶 Skip or shorten the dog walk – particularly if your pooch is frightened of storms. Nobody needs to be recreating Singing in the Rain while being dragged home by a panicking Labrador. ☔😂 Get toilet breaks done between storms where possible and keep dogs securely on a lead.

🐱 Keep cats at home – even confident adventurers can bolt when startled by a sudden clap of thunder. Secure those doors, windows and cat flaps! 🏡

📺 Turn up the TV or pop some music on – calming classical music or familiar background noise can help disguise what's happening outside. Perhaps avoid playing Bohemian Rhapsody though... they've heard enough about thunderbolts and lightning already. 😂🎶

👅 Deploy the LickiMat! – LickiMats, stuffed toys, puzzle feeders and tasty treats can provide a welcome distraction. Can't hear thunder. Too busy licking chicken paste. 🤤

🏡 Build a cosy hideaway – blankets, covered crates and quiet corners can give nervous pets somewhere to retreat. If they've chosen the back of the wardrobe as their emergency bunker, let them have it! 😴

🌿 Calming products such as Feliway for cats and Adaptil for dogs may also help some pets feel more settled, particularly when introduced in advance.

And remember: you know your pet best. Stay calm, offer reassurance if they seek it and never force them out of somewhere they've chosen to hide. 💙 If your pet has a severe fear of thunderstorms, have a chat with our team about what other options may be available to help them. 🩺🐾

🐶🎉 Happy National Dog Day! 🎉🐶
Today is all about celebrating our loyal companions, our best friends, our walking buddies, our cuddle monsters, and the ones who somehow always know when we need them most. 💙🐾

Here at the practice, we're lucky enough to spend every day surrounded by dogs of every shape, size and personality. From tiny puppies having their first vaccinations, to wise old seniors enjoying their golden years, every wagging tail that walks through our doors brightens our day. 🥹❤️

Dogs do so much more than keep us company. They make us laugh, get us outdoors, greet us like we've been gone for years (even if it's only been five minutes!), and love us unconditionally through life's ups and downs. We truly don't know what we'd do without them. 🐕✨

To celebrate National Dog Day, we'd love to fill the comments with as many gorgeous faces as possible! 📸

🤎🐾 Say a BIG hello to Winston! 🐾🤎
This gorgeous little (or maybe not-so-little! 😂) man is Winston, a 9-week-old chocolate Labrador puppy who recently came in to see Vet Georgia for his vaccinations. 💉🐶

Whilst he was here, Nurse Amber simply couldn't resist sneaking in some snuggles and, of course, a little photoshoot! 📸🥹🤎

We genuinely cannot believe Winston is only 9 weeks old—just look at the size of him already! Those paws definitely suggest he's got plenty more growing to do... we think there's going to be a VERY big boy in there! 🐾😂

Visits like these are also a great opportunity for puppies to build positive associations with the practice—plenty of gentle handling, cuddles and attention can help make future vet visits feel much less daunting. 💕

We can't wait to see you again, little man! Although something tells us there'll be a LOT more of you to cuddle next time! 😂🤎🐶

Can you believe it's almost the last Summer Bank Holiday already?! 😱 Where has this year gone? Before we know it, we'll all be talking about Christmas... yikes! 🎄🙈

With the long weekend just around the corner, we'd like to remind everyone to check their pet's medication at home. 💊🐾

If you're worried you might run out over the Bank Holiday weekend, please make sure you order and collect your pet's medication before Saturday to avoid any unnecessary stress.

🏥 Our practices will be:
✅ Open as normal until Saturday
❌ Closed on Monday for the Bank Holiday
✅ Reopening on Tuesday

💙 Don't worry though—we're still here for you 24/7. Our fantastic on-call team will be available throughout the Bank Holiday to provide emergency care for pets who need urgent veterinary attention.

🩷🐾 A big milestone for TWO very special girls! 🐾🩷
This beautiful little lady is Ivy, an adorable Ragdoll kitten who recently came in to see Nurse Laura for her second vaccination. 💉🐱✨

But this wasn't just a big day for Ivy...it was a pretty special one for Laura too! 🥹

After recently qualifying as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN), this was the very first time Laura got to add her own signature to a vaccination card as an RVN! 🩺🎉

From all those years of studying, training and hard work to finally signing that card herself—we think that's definitely a moment worth celebrating! 💕👏

So it's a huge well done to both of our girls: Ivy for being such a brave little superstar for her vaccination, and Laura for reaching yet another exciting milestone in her nursing career. 🥰

First of many signatures, Laura! ✍️💉 And Ivy, we can't wait to watch you grow into those gorgeous Ragdoll paws! 🐱🩷

😎🐾 We know you LOVE seeing our pooches in their doggles! 🐾😎

And who better to model them than the lovely Meg?! 💜
Meg regularly visits our nursing team for laser therapy on her hips, stifles and back, and as you can see, she's an absolute pro at it! 🥹✨

The special protective doggles are worn during her treatment to keep her eyes safe from the laser—and Meg makes the whole procedure look completely easy peasy. Super cute, super laid-back and very fashionable! 😎🐶

Laser therapy can be used as part of a treatment plan to help manage pain, inflammation and stiffness, particularly in pets with conditions such as arthritis. 🩺🐾

We love you, Meg! 💜 Keep rocking those doggles, and we'll see you next time for another treatment! 😎✨
