What to do if your dog gets heatstroke 🔥

Heat stroke, especially in flat faced breeds can be fatal! You must act quickly and with *COLD* water! 🧊 The below points have been extracted from a recent study to show the effects of cold water Vs. heat stroke.

💧Call a vets and travel immediately, keeping air conditioning right up ❄️
💧Pour, hose or fully immerse the pet in very cold water (ensuring the head is fully above water) 💦
💧Do not drape in towels. Keep the cold water flowing. 🌊
💧Move to a cool, shaded area ☁️
💧Prepare to transport to vets in a cold, air conditioned car 🚗

WHAT NOT TO DO!!:
❌ Do not sq**rt lemon juice in your dogs mouth. It's just a viral myth, it doesn't work. If anything, it makes it worse!

Vaccine appointments are very important for several reasons 💉
The obvious one is to keep them up to date with vaccines, but it's also a time for your pet to have a 'Nose to Tail' examination and check for any abnormalities, big or small! 🐕

🥰 Lovely Marley came in recently with his siblings for boosters and a little lump was found. A sample was taken there and then and he was such a good boy for it!! Nurse Becky enjoyed a cuddle afterwards ❤️

Piggle and Dennis in for a manicure recently and were the best boys for it! 😍
Not all pups enjoy having their feet and claws played with, but these boys were just wonderful 💯

It is very important to get your pups used to their feet being touched so it helps them in times like these 🥰

Our wonderful vet, Georgia and 6 friends are taking on a huge challenge this weekend! They're climbing the 3 UK peaks 😱
Yep, that's right...Scafell Pike, Snowdon and big old Ben Nevis!
And although they're doing it for fun, they're also doing it to raise money for so many incredible charities out there, one being RSPCA 🐾

🐈‍⬛ Sausage had his booster recently. Not only was he 'Head Booper of the year', he was also diagnosed with 'levels of distinguishment'. Definitely got to watch out for that 👀

🌳 We love our front consult room, being able to look out at the garden is very lovely on a busy working day! And Sausage agreed 🥰
