Welcome to all our new followers and thank you for being here! For those of you new to our page, here’s a little bit about us!

Woodlands Vets was started by Mike Daly in 1992 and we opened a branch practice in Brockworth in 2019. We underwent an expansion and improvement to our facilities 4 years ago, allowing us to have separate dog, cat and exotics ward as well as 2 spacious operating theatres, separate dental and radiography suites and a 4th consulting room. We joined the CVS family 4 years ago when Mike took well deserved retirement.

We’ve seen lots of changes over the last 34 years and are incredibly proud to have supported so many pets and their owners on their journeys in that time.

We have 9 experienced vets, 8 registered veterinary nurses, 2 student veterinary nurses, 2 patient care assistants and 8 receptionists.

We are an RCVS registered practice and training centre and hold awards for being an ISFM cat friendly practice, rabbit friendly practice and Dog’s Trust dog friendly practice. These awards show our commitment to excellence and improvements to animal comfort and welfare.

We strive to provide the very best care to all our patients and owners and we love what we do!

A day in the life of a Veterinary Nurse!

We start our day at 8am with admitting patients. We take pet parents through the consent forms to make sure they fully understand the procedures being carried out and the risks. We go through estimates and we find out your pets likes and dislikes to try and make their stay as calm and comfortable as possible.

When they leave you, we bring them into our prep room and perform a pre-operative check. We listen to their heart and chest, check their pulses and take their temperature.

From there we liaise with the vets to work out their pre-medications and draw them up ready to be given before their surgeries.

Nala here was recently in with us for a dental procedure and thoroughly enjoyed all the cuddles and attention!
