I am very excited to announce I will be hosting a talk on recognising equine pain behaviours over at Beechwood Equestrian Centre cafe on Friday 21st August at 7pm till 8:30 (arrive from 6:30) there will be refreshments available and extra time for questions at the end of the talk. Join award-winning, accredited equine behaviourist Millie Martin for an evening talk exploring the behavioural signs that are so often misunderstood. Discover how behaviours commonly labelled as "naughty", "stubborn", or "dominant" are, in many cases, the horse's way of communicating pain, discomfort, or physical distress.

This talk will go through the relationship between equine behaviour, pain, and welfare, using real life client case studies to demonstrate how qualified Equine Behaviourists can work collaboratively with other qaulified equine professionals (such as specialist veterinary surgeons, remedial farriers, physiotherapist and more) to identify the root cause of behavioural concerns. We will look at how subtle behavioural changes and body language can indicate underlying discomfort or pain, explore the Equine Pain Scale, and discuss how to recognise the early signs that are often overlooked or ruled as 'naughtiness'.

Through real life client before and after case studies, we'll follow each horse's journey from behavioural symptoms to diagnosis, highlighting how positive reinforcement training helps rebuild confidence, trust, and emotional wellbeing once pain or discomfort has been addressed. This particular talk was very popular at the National Equine show this year, and I can't wait to share it with more of you..this time with even more case studies!
