45 vivariums gone.

Every animal transported.

Everyone’s settled and back under their heat and lighting.

Best of all, they’re completely unaware of the chaos that has gone on around them over the last few days.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped move, lift, carry, clean, transport, share our posts, send suggestions and offer support.

The response to our last posts was incredible and genuinely helped us through one of the toughest weeks we’ve faced.

We’re exhausted.

The animals are settled.

And tomorrow, we start again.

I honestly don’t know where to start.

Since sharing our post, we’ve had tens of thousands of views, nearly 100 shares, countless messages, suggestions, offers of help and potential opportunities.

Thank you.

The support over the last two days has been overwhelming and has reminded me just how many people care about these animals and what we’re trying to build.

While we still don’t have a permanent home, I believe we now have a short-term plan in place that will allow us to keep moving forward while I continue working tirelessly to find a long-term solution. I’ll keep you all updated.

Now comes the mammoth task.

Every enclosure needs dismantling and moving.
Every animal needs transporting safely.
Everything needs setting back up.
Then everyone needs feeding, cleaning and settling back into their new surroundings.

If you would like to lend a hand, whether that’s helping move animals, loading vans, carrying equipment, cleaning enclosures, feeding animals or even just picking up a broom and helping us tidy up, it would be hugely appreciated.

This rescue has always been built by people who care.

Thank you to each and everyone of you that, shared, commented and had us in their prayers, thank you all for helping us keep going.

In 4 days, we have to hand back the keys to the rescue.

For years I have poured everything I have into this. Long days, late nights, every penny I’ve earned, all to build something that could help animals that had nowhere else to go.

I’ve spent months trying to find a solution. I’ve explored opportunities, viewed premises, sent emails, made calls and chased every lead I could find.

But I’ve run out of time.

The animals in our care have no idea any of this is happening. They still expect their feeds, their cleaning, their medication and the care they rely on every single day.

That’s why I’m asking for help.

If you know of a unit, farm, outbuilding, education centre, business, landowner or organisation that may be able to help, even on a short-term basis, please get in touch.

I am not ready to give up on them.

Animals like Aurora, our Savannah monitor, rely on us for ongoing specialist care and treatment. She is just one of many animals whose future depends on finding a solution.

Please share this post.

The right person seeing it could change everything.

BIG news for our little sanctuary.

We’re going to be live on BBC Essex today at 12:30pm taking part in Trading Places.

Listeners will have to guess where we are from 3 clues.

We’re also hoping to get a few minutes to talk about the rescue, the animals here and the work that goes on behind the scenes every single day.

If you tune in and hear us live, send us a message.

My hands and arms are shredded from those tiny claws already, but I’m completely in love.

Judging me from across the enclosure and tail whipping at the slightest movement, but she’s slowly starting to trust.
She even came on her first outing over the weekend and handled it brilliantly.

Worth every scratch.

Her enclosure is one of three powered by the ThermoZoo Pro from Arcadia Reptile.
An absolute must have for large enclosures and professional setups.

No thoughts.
Only food.

These guys hear one conversation and suddenly act like they haven’t eaten in months.

In all seriousness though this is what it looks like when reptiles learn your routine, they pick up on noises and movements associated with feeding time.
They will just sit there patiently until I feed them

Happy World Turtle Day.
As I’m celebrating by doing a water change today. This feels like the perfect time to introduce Pebbles, our juvenile Chinese striped neck turtle.

One thing we are massively passionate about is creating enclosures that reflect an animal’s natural environment as closely as possible. Not just keeping them alive, but showing the standard we believe people should aim for with their own pets.

Pebbles’ enclosure has been rebuilt around that idea. Native fish, native shrimp, and plants from the same region, all working together like they would in the wild.

This is about education and pushing standards higher within the reptile world. We should always be aiming for the best possible care, not the bare minimum.

Every upgrade in this enclosure has been funded through your visits and support, which allows us to keep improving habitats and pushing these ideas further. A new bigger tank has ready been donated too.

Species in this setup include Chinese mountain cloud minnows and bee shrimp.

Plants used. Cardamine lyrata, Rotala rotundifolia, Limnophila sessiliflora, and Eleocharis acicularis.

This is the level we believe animals deserve.

Finally got a trio of European tree frogs to welcome to Pearl’s Pythons.
A species I’ve wanted to work with for years.

Tiny frogs with massive personalities, bright colours and an incredibly loud bark for their size, especially once the lights go down.

One of the most interesting things about them is they were once thriving in the UK, disappearing around 500 years ago.

They’re settling into their enclosure well already, with more upgrades already underway over the next few weeks.

Come along to see the rest of the new arrivals now they’ve completed quarantine and check out the enclosure upgrades we’ve been working on.

Guess the species.
Watch until the end for a little love. 🧡
