Fields 🌾

Now that most of the fields have been harvested, you can see the extent of how dry the floor is with all the cracks

Please bare in mind that if you’re taking your dogs for a run across the fields, injury is a high possibility if they’re clumsy like my boy, miss-step or are too busy having a great time to look where they’re going!

This isn’t to say don’t let them off at all, just be cautious of your surroundings where possible 🐾

Puppy Graduates 🎓

A HUGE well done to Otis, Indy, Nala, Stanley, Bertie and Saffron 🐾

Today marked the end of their 6-weeks of group classes

I am so proud of all of them, and it’s so lovely to see how their confidence, focus and overall learning has improved in such a short space of time. Today they even conquered some confidence building and shaping exercises 👏🏻

Can’t wait to see how and hear how they get on!

Massive thank you to Chatteris Dog Field at Welly Wearers for providing an amazing safe space for our classes

Puppy School!! ✨

In a few days time, this group of wonderful pups will be graduating from their 6-week puppy school course and moving onto the next stages of learning!

I am so proud of them all!

Classes with us are more than teaching obedience or tricks, it’s about forming lasting bonds with clear communication between a dog and his/her owner

Quick reminders to all clients:

1️⃣ ID tags

Please ensure your dog has an ID tag on their collar/harness when out walking in public. Especially if they are off-lead in an open space!

You can get these same day from Pets at Home, or order online - I recommend FlexiTags.

2️⃣ Holiday Dates / Cancellation Policy

If you’re taking holiday, or have a change of plans, please let me know asap. We have a 48-hr cancellation policy for all services.

The newest bromance in town… Luca and Blueberry 🐶 🤍

Luca has been walking solo with me for the last few months, in fact he was one of the first dogs to join Golden Canine.. an OG!

We’ve worked on a few areas before considering group walks, such as engagement with me, recall and impulse control around other dogs (wanting to run over and say hello to everyone)

Before any dogs go on group walks, with dogs from other households, they’re introduced to my boy Blueberry 🫐

Blueberry has worked with me for many years as a stooge dog helping rehabilitate reactive dogs, build confidence and participates in class demos, he’s an absolute goofball but can read other dogs incredibly well, which is why I will use him for group assessments - safety first, always!

Meet Milo 🐶

This handsome boy started his Walk and Train programme only 2 weeks ago!

We still have a lot of work to do, and by no means does the whole walk look like this BUT we’ve made huge improvements on..

✅ understanding the lead
✅ engagement with handler
✅ calmness when leaving the home
✅ door/gate manners and impulse control next to roads

What we’re yet to work on..

❌ Walking next to the push chair
❌ Remaining calm in high energy situations (lots of things all happening at once)

All training takes time, patience, consistency and structure!

Puppy School ✨

I was too invested in today’s training and forgot to take videos (sorry) but the group did great!! Little superstars that are developing their skills really well 🤩

We had the longlines out and worked on the basics of recall with some games added in

✅ Always make it fun!
✅ High rates of reward to start with
✅ Rewarding offered check-ins, not just when called
✅ Longlines for practise and safety
✅ Playing games to make YOU valuable

As with all training and teaching the foundations, knowing when to end the session is really important
