This customer asked me to create this frame off an inspo photo for their partner. Turns out huntsman spiders can create the perfect heart with their legs!

Giant Orange Tip (Hebomoia glaucippe) is named after the striking orange patches on the upper edges of their wings. This species is found in much of south and southeast Asia including southern China and southern Japan. It has a wingspan of 8-10cm.

Starting January all our black frames now come with an upgraded hanger (larger and hinged), as well as a stand. Giving you more options on how you'd like to display them. Some of you may have already received our upgraded frames and we hope you love the improvement! 🖤

We will be rolling this out to our Grey and White frames once our old stock has sold out. The Gothic frames will be very similar, however the closure that secures the backing on is slightly different.

We love our gothic frames but we are feeling a change incoming 😱

Starting soon our gothic frames will come in the same style as our "standard" range, including a very stylish black internal frame mount 🖤

This means we will have a uniformed style throughout our whole range of frames, meaning we can also increase the amount of insects / butterflies offered in this style 🥳

You can still choose to have with or without the metal corner decals 🥰

Our Story

I’ve always had a keen passion for art and making things. Studying Art and Photography in both High School and College gave me a good base to build and grow my skills.

Last year I decided I wanted to make my best friend something special for Christmas, instead of the usual shop bought bottle of rum or craft equipment. After a lot of thought and searching on the internet, I stumbled upon a stunning blue butterfly that was ready to be set into some kind of art. This is what stemmed my idea to preserve it in a glass bell jar.

I had previously seen people do similar things, however I wanted to make mine a little different. With the help of my partner, we ordered all the items we needed and started to create the final product.

We were really happy with how it turned out, so I posted it on Facebook and Instagram to see what people thought. We got a lot of really nice feedback, which is how DeadSet Co. was founded. The rest is history...
