A year ago this week I started freelancing!
I’ve been so lucky to have met some lovely people and fantastic horses with big personalities (Cadfael, I’m looking at you ❤️🤣❤️.)

Seriously though, I do love my job and I cannot thank the people who took a chance on me when I first started enough.
I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for everyone who has supported my small business 🫶. I’m grateful for every single opportunity!

And then to get to one of my favourite yards today to find this almost made me tear up a bit 🫶. This makes the job worth while when people appreciate what you do because it’s not just turning up and doing a few horses, it’s about the love and care that goes into it.
I’ve always loved horses and to work with them everyday, you can’t really complain can you?!

Hi all, due to recent circumstances I will no longer be offering riding or schooling in any way.
Unfortunately on a selfish point of view I have my own horses that need to be put first and I’m no good to them injured! Thanks all ❤️

As the year draws to a close I would like to take a moment to thank all of my lovely clients for trusting me with their four legged friends this year, with everything from schooling to freelancing ❤️.

In May of this year I still had no idea what I wanted to do in the equestrian field but I always knew it would definitely involve being around horses everyday.
So in June I began helping a lovely client with her confidence and she pushed me to start “DJ Equine” helping with any questions I had and being there though anything when I’ve needed her.
She helped me create something that I’m so passionate about and I’m now completely infatuated with this line of work in the equine industry 🥰. So a huge thank you Staci Doula Sylvan and my family for all of your help and for pushing me to start this even when I was apprehensive at first!

I have loved meeting and working with new people and helping to build confidence between horse and rider and being able to cover yards for owners to enjoy a break with peace of mind that their horses are safe, thank you everyone who has made this possible this year!!! ❤️

Please can I ask that if you have been happy with the work I had done either on your yard or with your horses could you leave a honest review on the page to hopefully reach a wider range of people 🙂.
And here’s to an even better 2025 🥂

I specialise in CONFIDENCE BUILDING clinics, either on your own horse or one of our own at TCB Horse Hirelings.
I work with you at your pace with the goal of achieving a positive outcome at the end of every session, so you leave each session feeling on top of the world.
I also offer confidence sessions out hacking too!

This week I’m covering the Pontardawe area for yard work.
I cover from St clears to Neath and I can travel a bit further with an additional fuel charge.
I am available for all types of yard work and some riding work where required.

Over the last 12 days I’ve been lovely enough to work on a lovely local yard providing holiday cover for a lovely family with beautiful horses.
They were really flexible around my commitments and I was lucky to even have help on the yard too!
Thank you guys for using me and for the lovely messages upon your arrival home, hope you get some well earned rest and thank you for trusting me with you horses, it’s been a true pleasure ❤️.

As we are now heading into winter I will be turning my attention towards yard work a bit more. 🙂

I have multiple qualifications in equine care, management and lungeing which include BHS stage 2 care and lunge and I’m currently working and training towards stage 3.

I have many years of experience with all different types of horses which include stallions, event horses, show jumpers and hunters. 🐎
All yard work is done to a high standard and as you would expect it.

Whether you need a break or just an extra pair of hands to lighten the load of winter your four legged friend will be treated as one of my own 💕.

I have hundreds of professional references available if needed.
Feel free to PM me to discuss prices.
I can also work out a deal for regular yards if this is required
I’m happy to travel pretty much anywhere within a reasonable distance but please be aware that I may need to add some fuel costs 🙂

We’ve had a busy few weeks here at home!
On Friday two lovely ladies joined me for a confidence ride around the field on her own horse and she was accompanied by her friend.
She did absolutely amazingly and she was visibly anxious about going into an open space, so we went and did some road work first to make sure her breaks were working and that she was comfortable because we went for a canter. She did absolutely super and I hope she went home proud of her accomplishment! 🥳🥳

Dobs and Del who came for some schooling went home with their owner and it was a rather fond farewell but Dobs has been going amazingly with his owner at home and she’s been enjoying riding him again ❤️🥳

And lastly my own horse Floyd who broke his hip earlier this year made a massive comeback and completed his first inter hunt relay with the three counties bloodhounds.
I rehabilitated Floyd myself and I’m proud to say he’s comeback to his usual self and is back enjoying his ridden work 🤩❤️!

I have great news ✨!
This last month I have been busy receiving equine exam results and completing exams to ensure I’m capable to look after horses to the highest standards!

In my college course equine management I achieved a triple distinction! The course included riding horses, assessing conformation, coaching, equine fitness and rehabilitation! 🥳

I have also passed BHS stage 2 care and lunge meaning I have qualified as a foundation groom! And hope to work towards stage 3 very shortly. 🥳

Today I waved the lovely Lizzie goodbye as she goes home with her owner to go and make some memories ❤️.
Lizzie has truly excelled during her time with me from becoming more responsive to aids and learning how to hold and maintain a secure contact.
Thank you so much to her owner for trusting me with her, I can’t wait to see your journey 🥰
