Holidays were finished in July for the boys .. I brought Perry and Rolex back into full work. They’ve done well over their rest period, though Perry is still leaner than I’d like- he often does better in work - so fingers crossed it’s the same this year.
I have a first hunt race aim for Fife on 10th October for Rolex. I’m very pleased how he has really turned a corner, looking so well, completely worth it. Perry will continue ticking away till I can decide what to do/ perhaps get his leg scanned again, maybe some team chases at a low level, with hunter trails and more fun rides etc as he really seems to enjoy getting fit and jumping… he is slowly picking up muscle and top line again, also with help from NEIGHKED products - both of them are completely glowing, gaining muscle and all out looking rather well! 😍✨

What an ACHIEVEMENT! 400 winners ‼️

Yes you heard that right 👉 We would like to forward our HUGE congratulations to Alyson Malzard who trained her 400th winner at Les Landes, with Resilient Power last night.

Alyson owned, trained and rode her first winner with Sadara Boy 39 years ago.

How lucky we are to have crossed paths!?
Where do I start - Rolex. Aka Espoir De Guye 😍🏇🏼
Unfortunately being a ‘quirky type’ he’s been in a few homes … but I truely believe a horse really ‘turns around’ when they have found their person and feel safe in their home 💜😍
Well look at him now! Yes it may of been in the winter I got him.. but honestly I really felt like he was so sad, I didn’t even want to ride him. So I gave him two weeks of settling in and feeding and lots of loving and grooming - even moving into a new home for all of us (after only having him for 5 days!) he was a gent and took it all in his stride, became friends with Perry and Ginger and hobo and it was easy going!
Tummy, weight, muscle & feet were concerns for me, but my gosh what an absolute beast he has come out as even after a couple of months into work.
We competed from February until April with a total of 6 hunt scurry races! Finishing 5th place overall! From the end of April we took shoes off and turned out for a nice holiday - which he will come back into work in July 🙏🏻💜🏇🏼
Considering Rolex was going to be a temporary measure whilst Perry was off with injury .. I really couldn’t not keep him. I absolutely adore him, he fits right in and completes the herd 💜🏇🏼

The end of April and May in pictures!
Been a quiet spell of late, so I apologise for the silence. It’s been a case of making sure the boys are happy and healthy and enjoying things !!
Rolex is having a wonderful summer holiday in which I’ve also decided to buy him.
Perry is back in full work, lots of variety of lunging, hacking and also has been on two beautiful fun rides! His leg seems to holding out fine with no heat or swelling - even after our first jump at the fun ride! 🏇🏼🎉🙏🏻 Ideally I’d like to get more weight on him, but he just doesn’t hold it well which is frustrating, but he is only being a riding horse and no more racing, I can’t risk his check ligament blowing and being catastrophic rather than how it was, as he doesn’t deserve that 🙏🏻💜
Ginger I’m quietly ticking away with, to keep him busy and give him a job… we will see how things go ..
Hobo is his spritely little self and still stuffing his face - so he is closely monitored!! 🙏🏻🤣
I’ve been able to get back Flapping, even though I was unsure if I wanted to continue or not- various reasons - not much support, working farming full time and after my operations last year(ACL&Meniscus repair and an appendicitis), I seem to be treated completely differently, but I’m still trying hard and remain loyal, because that’s who i am. So I’m extremely grateful for the opportunities so far.
Big up to Woodie, Maxi and Buttons for being dudes in our races so far in these months around Hawick and also Langholm.

Well! Over and out for the most brilliant Scurry season with Rolex aka Espoir De Guye. Counting my lucky stars to have Rolex and Perry as the coolest duo !! 💜🤍🏇🏼
Myself and Rolex finished 5th overall and ‘best newcomers’ in this seasons 25/26 after only 6 runs!!

What a credit to all teams, hunts, supporters, course builders and organisers!

Sunday 19th April - The Wynnstay Hunt Scurry -which there was also gate jumping and a Teamchase day!! Fabulous day out!
Honestly, I was really anxious on this day, for a number of reasons, I couldn’t catch my breath, head wasn’t really working ‘well’. But that said Rolex behaved impeccably- like he knew. (As he does get a little impatient sometimes) .. the course walked great, beautiful day.
3.15pm was the start! Rolex jumped the first two ace, then the third i had a real foggy ‘oh sh*t’ moment and I competed guided him wrong and second guessed it- so we ended up going through the top of the hedge, me unseating, so think also hitting a railing. We seemed okay, no obvious signs at all at that point- so we were able to carry on. Climbed back up, he felt okay, so then to get round was the aim. The rest of the course was fabulous. Rolex tries so hard without really trying - I then just let him do his thing he just takes me without asking. He looked after us both, and cruised around the drop hedge and big hedge in front of the crowds to then catch up with the main group by fence 10&11, which was another tasty hedge !
We finished 6th overall!! So so proud- 3rd lightweight, 1st Farmer!
I am so so grateful for Rolex for all the fun the past few months.
He is a dream - the pilot just needs to let him do his thing and relax more beforehand !!
So Monday morning came (he was fine when we got home the night before) - he was not 100% so I pulled out of our final race for the season, because he deserves the care and love, not just to run for the pure sake of it. The boys’ interest are the main thing, to keep them happy and healthy xx
