๐Ÿพ Meet Sylvia and Ruby! ๐Ÿพ

They came in to be neutered by Vet Kathryne, Student Nurse Isabel and Nurse Becca.
The girls are currently being fostered so were very nervous and liked to hide and cuddle together for reassurance.
Kathryne had been reading up about the latest techniques and advice for spaying guinea pigs and performed the surgery in their flank (the side of the tummy) rather than the more traditional midline (the middle of the tummy underneath) as it is thought to be better for recovery and pain management in these little ladies! This was the first time Kathryne had followed this newer technique on this species and it was a huge success!
Well done Kathryne and Sylvia who was our first patient to try this with! We are glad you full recovered and are back to munching parsley with cuddles from your sister!

๐Ÿ‡ Rabbit vaccinations! ๐Ÿ‡

๐Ÿฐ Myxomatosis is a widespread, life-threatening virus โš ๏ธ

Cases are seen frequently in unvaccinated rabbits, causing tumour like swellings and decreasing the rabbitโ€™s ability to fight infection, so they tend to catch additional bacterial infections that cause severe respiratory disease.

The best way to protect your rabbit is with regular vaccinations throughout their life. This not only protects them, but also decreases the spread of disease. Check with us if your rabbitโ€™s vaccinations are up to date, or find out more by chatting to us on 01228 549177

Did you know we also have a rabbit healthcare which could mean all your vaccines were covered? ask us about Rabbit health care plans.
