Christmas grooms have landed 🎅🎄

Bella had a bath & brush and tidied up her face so she could see again 👀
Buddy had a bath and deshed with a tidy up to sort his grinch toes and fluffy bum🙈

Both enjoyed a blueberry facial, nose and paw balm and went away with their Christmas bows and bag of treats 🦴

Christmas spa can be added on to any bath or groom 🎄

Sometimes dog grooming isn’t about grooming at all. It’s about making connections and allowing the dogs that come to see me the chance to feel calm and safe before any grooming even starts.

Little Dolly is extremely nervous without her mum and never been to a groomers before, other than to have her nails trimmed. After speaking with her mum we decided 1-1 grooming would be the best option for her as nervous dogs don’t do well in busy salons and she needed one on one treatment to help her feel safe.

After mum left we sat on the floor and I let her find her feet and have a good sniff around. Without even having to touch her she chose to eventually come and sit in my lap, just what I wanted her to do! From here I could stroke and touch her paws and then eventually move on to clipping her nails with barely any restraint at all.

She began to trust me more and more and slowly but surely we got in the bath, had a good scrub and she even handled the high velocity dryer like a trooper! Finished off with a brush with the Groomi and an ear clean 🥰

This all wouldn’t have been so smooth if I had just put her in the bath straight away and treated her like a dog that’s used to grooming. Time and patience is EXACTLY what nervous dogs need, and I’ll always have time for my clients and their dogs to do this ❤️

Rabbit and guinea pig grooming ✂️

Most rabbit and guinea pig breeds require minimal grooming. Regular brushing is generally only necessary for long-haired breeds (with the exception of rabbits during seasonal coat changes) and nail trimming if they do not have access to hard ground for natural wear.

Both species are usually able to maintain their coats independently. Intervention is only needed in cases of matting, fly strike, difficulty grooming, or with breeds that have unusually long coats, such as Angora rabbits.

Important: Rabbits and guinea pigs should never be bathed unless advised for medical reasons. They must also never be left outside while wet, as being prey animals, they are highly susceptible to stress and can go into shock, which may be fatal.

What a difference a bath and scissor make! 😍

Little Wolfie has been coming to me for a couple years now and is as cute as a button!

He wasn’t a fan of grooming or his feet being touched but after gaining his trust I now believe he enjoys the pamper and he has no problem having his feet touched or nails clipped!

Pomeranians have double coats so should NEVER be shaved with clippers. They only require a good bath and de shed but some people do chose to have them tidied up with scissors for that extra clean finish.

Poor Wolfie had an injury last year resulting in his back end being shaved at the vets and his hair hasn’t quite ever grown back so to make him even he has a good scissor trim all over.

Doesn’t he scrub up well! 👑

Hi, I’m Kat – thanks for visiting my pet grooming page ✂️

I began my grooming journey nearly 11 years ago, training through The Groom Room at Pets at Home. Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of grooming salons before deciding to turn grooming into more of a passion project, while I followed my other dream: working in a veterinary practice.

These days, I’m proud to split my time between both worlds. I work part-time as a Veterinary Care Assistant in a wonderful practice, which truly fills my heart. Helping animals brings me so much joy, and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to balance both of my passions.

In addition to dog grooming, I also have plenty of experience with small animals. I offer rabbit and guinea pig nail trims, and grooming when necessary—always with gentle, knowledgeable care.

While I don’t operate from a fancy salon or high-tech pod, I’ve lovingly converted my garage into a clean, calm, and practical grooming space. What matters most to me is your pet’s well-being, and I treat every animal as if they were my own.
