Good morning everybody

Well, after an extremely hot day working on Julia’s Pond here are a few progress photos.

We carried out a nice big water change and added water treatments of course.

During the visit We also installed a new fountain filter.

My customer Julia was really happy with the end result, not only did her pond have crystal Clearwater the new filter was installed and working as well!

Good afternoon, everybody.

I wanted to share five minutes of my day here in Cardiff looking after this lovely Pond.

Today I installed this fountain pump/filter into the Pond and also carried out a nice big water change in order to help with the algae that has been developing due to the hot sunny weather!

I’m about halfway through at the moment so that after Photos will be uploaded tomorrow morning as normal!

Good morning everybody.

Last week we visited our regular customers at Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School, Blackwood, Caerphilly to continue with the upkeep the Schools beautiful aquarium.

It’s very rewarding to see the aquarium develop and see the Fish thriving, we even have some babies in the aquarium now!

So here are the results of my busy two days at Johns house towards the end of last week.

Three absolutely beautiful aquariums, each aquariums water chemistry perfectly balanced, all livestock in fantastic healthy condition and one very happy customer.

Good afternoon, everybody.

Well, as you know yesterday I completed a installation of a 5 foot aquarium and cabinet for one of my regular customers John.

As you can see when we started the day, we had everything boxed and ready…. by the end of my visit John had a brand-new aquarium!

I began the process by building the cabinet, then had to go through the process of closing down the original aquarium.

Once the new aquarium was in place and external filter fitted, the livestock were introduced to their new home.

We were able to do this as we kept the established external filter which had lots of anaerobic bacteria and we also treated the water with sechem Prime and stability.

Good morning everybody.

As you may recall yesterday, my intention was to complete the install of Johns new aquarium, then complete the regular maintenance on his two other aquariums.

The install took slightly longer than expected, and I had been running late from a morning job, so decided to double back this morning in order to complete the process.

I appreciate that I am biased, but my goodness how beautiful are these Fish! John Harris

Good afternoon, everybody

So I noticed that my video seem to be popular the other day so I thought I would share another one with you all.

This afternoon, I’m at Johns house and it’s going to be a busy day!

Not only am I looking after the large Malawi aquarium and Puffer fish aquarium…

I am also upgrading a third aquarium that John has in his office.

The upgrade will involve building the cabinet and installing the aquarium, transferring the water from the smaller aquarium, installing a fluval 407 external filter and the lighting system, and of course eventually transferring all the livestock over to the new aquarium

I will of course keep you updated on the progress of the afternoon. Hope you all enjoy !

Good morning everybody.

So you may recall that on Tuesday I went to visit a New Customer named Chris to take a look at his external filter that had seemed to had completely seized.

When I arrived, I took a look and realised that the filter was missing the aqua stop valve and was very brittle.

Because of this I explained to Chris that I would need to replace the part for him and come back the following day as the job would take a little longer than I had an anticipated.

Chris asked if I could clean out the aquarium when I returned as well as fix the external too…. Of course no problem at all was my reply.

The following day I returned at 7am (as I already a fully booked day) and got to work !

Heres a summary of the jobs that I needed to complete

Aquarium water changed and treated with Seachem UK Prime and Stability. ✔️

Overgrowth of plants taken out of aquarium and deep algae and substrate cleanse. ✔️

Fluval external 407.

Pipework cleaned through. ✔️
Aqua Stop Valve replaced. ✔️
Filter media cleaned (in aquarium water)✔️
Impeller cleaned as had seized✔️

Light system cleaned and programmed via AP ready for customers convenience✔️

As you can imagine this was a tricky visit but I feel that the end result speaks for its self and im pleased to say that Christopher Hopkins was happy with the end result.

We have now agreed to an ongoing monthly maintenance visit, so thats already one of the spaces I have gone guys, so Get in touch as only a few spaces left from my diary reshuffle !

In relation to the AFTER photos obviously the aquarium will need to settle for a few hours and the light system was dimmed to lessen any stress for the fish after all that disruption.

Good morning everybody.

Well, as you know, I had a busy day yesterday so as promised, a few photos from my days adventure!

It was a great feeling to be back behind the wheel of my van and travelling to visit all my customers after a little mid year break.

Days like yesterday, always remind me of how lucky I am to not only have a job that I love, but the support of all my customers and followers.

I’ve said it many times without your support there is no Mikeys Aquatic Services.

I love the fact that I have followers right back from when I worked with my brother at Aquatic World and New followers from as recent as yesterday, each of you sharing the journey of watching my little business navigate itself through a slow and steady process of development.
