Good morning everybody.

This week we visited a customer that had missed a few maintenance visits over the last few months and it would be a perfect example of why you need to keep your aquarium regularly maintained.

After a few hours and a lot of work you can see we managed to get a fantastic and result with the Customer was very happy with.

Im pleased to say they have now decided to book in on a regular basis.

Good morning everybody.

Yesterday we made a visit to Gabalfa to maintain this beautiful colourful aquarium for one of our regular customers.

During the visit, I enjoyed experimenting with the Fluval Sky LED light, it’s very interesting to see how the colours of the fish change depending on what light spectrum you use.

As you can see, it was a great result on the Customer was very happy!

Goodmorning everyone.

Well we have had a busy week at Mikeys Aquatic Services.

Our customers have utilised nearly all the services that we provide.

This week we have had a variety of different jobs, heres an example of just a few lets start with changing a UV bulb in pond filter to aquarium relocations, fish rehoming projects and some landscaping in the mix too! We even visited Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales for our regular maintenance of their aquarium, and we repainted a summer house and brought a pond back to life too !

We are so grateful and thankful for all the support we receive from everyone!

Yesterday, I went to visit an old colleague and dear friend name Richie, who is now a regular customer!

I really enjoy maintaining Richies aquarium, as I know firsthand how stressful his profession is and the fact that I can provide him with some decompression and escapism after a hard shift means the world to me !

Good morning everybody.

Yesterday we went to visit Belinda one of our regular customers who we have known since our days in Aquatic World!

As you can see, she is the proud owner of these two lovely aquariums, this visit it was time to maintain the external filters as well as the aquariums.

It was a busy visit, but as you can see the end results were great and I’m pleased to say that Belinda was very happy.

Good-morning everyone.

A slightly different post to normal, but one that I think needs addressing as I have had the same conversation with several people this week, this is absolutely not directed at anyone in individually.

We have experienced 35° heat and intense sunshine, this is not normal weather for the UK and so our Ponds have reacted intensely and in a way they wouldn’t usually!

I have had a few phone calls and they have gone along the lines of you did our Pond a few months ago and now it’s completely green, these calls coming after customers not taking advice of having them monthly maintained.

Sooooooooooo…..

YES that’s exactly what happens in this heat and intense sun and when your pond is not regularly maintained 🤦🏼‍♂️

I can offer advice on treatments, UV Lighting systems, equipment, tips on water changing etc…..

BUT….. things I cannot be responsible for are the weather, customers deciding to not accept my advice of monthly regular maintenace and ponds that have not been touched in months since my last visit.

Good morning everybody.

Here are a few progress photos from a visit to one of my regular customers named Julia from earlier this week.

She is not alone in noticing how green her water has become, I am currently working my way through a list of customers who have the same problem.

But luckily for everybody, as you can see, Mikeys Aquatic Services will get your pond crystal clear!

Here is a simplified break down of tasks we completed to get this end result.

Large water change and water treated with a life bacteria de chlorinator and the addition of some prevent preventative algae treatment✔️

The Pond was physically scrubbed until there was no algae anywhere on the liner✔️

The Pond vacuum was used to pick up every single bit of sledge from every little hidden corner✔️

The return pump was taken out and cleaned right down to the impeller✔️

Filter box was also taken apart felt media cleaned and UV light was replaced✔️

The Fish were removed from the Pond and placed in professional holding ponds while the job was completed they were then integrated back✔️

We are please to say that Julia was very happy with the end result, we will be back later in the week to drop off some new Fish and to Paint her shed for her!

Good morning everybody.

This week we completed a relocation of this beautiful aquarium for one of our customers named Jeanne.

We initially visited Jeanne several weeks ago and carry out a consultation and organise a quotation. Once Jeanne was happy the job was booked in !

We closed down the aquarium and safely bagged up the fish and put them safe in a fish transport box.

Once we arrived at the new house the aquarium was rebuilt and water treated.

It was a difficult process as it was so warm, but we are very Pleased with the end result and Jeanne and her husband were very happy!

I also wanted to mention what lovely customers they were providing us with cold cans of coke and even an ice cream!
