Different breeds, different backgrounds, different ages and genders, yet achieving the same results through the same method, with different approaches tailored to each horse’s individual needs.

Every horse is different, and understanding those differences is a huge part of what we do.

I can’t put into words how much I love helping horses become the best possible partners for their owners.

Our aim is always the same: to build safe, confident horses so their riders can become confident too, creating a partnership built on trust, understanding and connection.

Safe horses. Confident riders. True connection. 🐴❤️

It’s so rewarding to look back and see the huge improvement in the horses I have the privilege of working with.

This big fella was full of anxiety and really struggled to stand still while out hacking. As you can see, he used to react quite badly, especially when heading back home.

Now, he’s learning how to manage his emotions, stay calmer and trust the process, and he’s doing amazingly well.

Progress like this doesn’t happen overnight. It takes patience, consistency and giving the horse the time they need to understand what we are asking from them.

A huge thank you to his amazing owners, who have given him the best possible life and have been so supportive throughout his training. It makes such a difference when everyone is working towards the same goal. ❤️🐴

Another youngster starting her ridden life, happy, relaxed and full of confidence.

There is something incredibly rewarding about giving a young horse the right foundation from the very beginning. Every lesson is built on trust, patience and understanding, creating a horse that enjoys learning and looks forward to the next step in its journey.

I feel truly blessed to do what I love and to play a part in shaping these wonderful animals into safe, confident partners for the future.

Does your horse stand still at the mounting block and wait patiently for you to get on? 🐴

This might look like a small thing — but it’s one of the biggest tells of trust and respect in your relationship with your horse.

A horse that stands quietly at the mounting block isn’t just “well behaved.” It’s telling you:

✅ They trust you completely, even when you’re above them and out of their normal field of vision

✅ They respect your space and understand boundaries

✅ They’re mentally calm and not anticipating pressure or discomfort

✅ Your leadership is clear and consistent — they don’t need to move their feet to feel safe

A horse that fidgets, walks off, or won’t settle at the mounting block is usually communicating something: anxiety, a lack of clarity, or a gap in the foundation somewhere. It’s not disobedience — it’s information.

Teaching this properly takes patience, consistency, and the right timing — but the payoff is a horse that mounts up calmly every single time, and a rider who starts every ride from a place of trust instead of tension.

🐴 Tired of only being able to hack out if you have company?

Many riders across the UK struggle with the same frustrations: horses that nap at the gate, bolt due to insecurity, or simply refuse to move without a "babysitter" pony.

Hacking should be about freedom and enjoyment, not a battle of wills. I specialise in building the confidence and foundation needed for you and your horse to hack out alone, calmly and safely.

Stop waiting for others to be free so you can enjoy your ride. I can help you transform your hacking experience.

Every horse deserves the right opportunity.

Selling a horse isn’t always just about advertising. Sometimes it’s about preparing them for the next chapter.

Through our Sales Livery programme, we help horses become safer, more educated and more appealing to potential buyers. Whether your horse needs a stronger foundation, more confidence, better manners or simply professional presentation, we tailor the training to suit their individual needs.

It’s important to understand that a quicker sale is never guaranteed, and that’s not always the goal.

Our priority is finding the right match, not just the first buyer.

Some horses need time to develop into safe, reliable partners. Others are best suited to experienced riders who understand their strengths, while some deserve owners who have the time and commitment to continue the education we’ve started.

We’d rather take the time to place a horse in the right home than rush a sale that isn’t in the horse’s best interest.

Packages to suit every need.

If you’re thinking of selling your horse and want to maximise their potential while giving buyers confidence, we’d love to help.

Send us a message today to discuss your horse and find the right Sales Livery package for you. 🐴

6 Truths That Will Change the Way You See Life

1. Don’t be the victim of your own life. Be the hero.

2. Don’t give up on your dreams. The price of giving up is much higher than the price of keeping going.

3. Remember, you once prayed for the life you’re living today. Be grateful.

4. No one should want your success more than you do.

5. Never forget, you’ll fail more times than you’ll succeed. But you’ll only succeed if you keep going after every failure.

6. Be kind when someone fails you, because one day you’ll need someone to be kind to you.

Have a lovely day. 🙏🏻🫶🏻🤠

One of the greatest rewards is seeing what happens when you put the right work into a horse from day one.

Taking the time to build a solid foundation through groundwork creates trust, confidence and clear communication before you ever ask for more.

This lovely boy is only 3 years old, recently started under saddle, and today he’s out hacking completely on his own, without the company of another horse.

That doesn’t happen by luck. It comes from patience, consistency and doing the basics properly.

Training a horse isn’t just about teaching it to carry a rider. It’s about developing a confident, willing partner.

That’s what we strive for at Moa Horsemanship.

“Teach your children right from wrong, and when they are grown they will still do right.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭6‬ ‭

When you take the time to train a yearling, not only how to load but everything needed to become a calm, relaxed, confident, and responsive horse in the future, it is incredibly rewarding.

This little boy did amazing and has already started his trot work for the shows that are coming very soon.
