This month we're giivng away a spookily- good pet Halloween hamper.

⏰⏰⏰ When requesting medication please be aware that any requests made on a Friday will not be delivered to the branch until Monday at the earliest. ⏰⏰⏰

When the medication arrives, it needs to be carefully checked and dispensed by the clinical team. Monday mornings are typically very busy and non-priority tasks will sometimes have to wait until later in the day.

We recommend that you wait for a member of the reception team to call and advise when your pets medication is available to pick up. This avoids wasted trips and helps the team to remain organised and priortise care for all patients whether urgent or non-urgent.

It’s spooky season 👻

With Halloween just around the corner, do you know how to keep your pet safe during the celebrations?

During Halloween evening, we recommend you:
🐕 Walk your dog earlier in the day, as the streets will be busier than usual.
🚪 Keep your pet in a separate room with their toys and blankets.
🔒 Secure any escape routes, because stressed-out pets may try to run and get lost.
🤠 Keep your costume pet-safe, with no small bits that might be chewed off or become a choking hazard.
🐟 A few weeks in advance, move your cat’s dinner time to before it gets dark, to encourage them to come home earlier.

We also recommend for all pets to be microchipped. If they escape during the celebrations, this is the best way to guarantee they’ll be brought back home.
If your pet isn’t microchipped, book a microchipping appointment with us!

Her owner completed one of our aging canine checklists and decided that Flo needed some extra help in her senior years.

Today is 𝐏𝐞𝐭 𝐎𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 ⚖🩺

If you're worried that your pet may have a few extra pounds then you can always book in for a free nurse consult. During this, you'll have your pet weighed, get some diet and nutrition advice and even work out their body condition score (BCS)

Seasonal Update 🎆🍂

October and November can be incredibly stressful for pets suffering with anxiety but luckily there are a number of products to help keep pets calm during fireworks season.

If you think that your pet would benefit from anti-anxiety medication, sprays or plug- ins then you can book a consultation to discuss their individual needs and find out what will work best for them. Prior to the consult, you can also fill in an anxiety assessment form found at our reception to aid the discussion. 📝

This 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲, the Scottish SPCA is asking people across Scotland to come together and help make Scotland the best place in the world for an animal to call home. 🏠

They have launched their fundraising weekend with its biggest ever street collection, taking place across Scotland on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th October.
So far, 33 collections across 15 council areas have been confirmed, with volunteers and colleagues giving up their time to raise vital funds and awareness for Scotland’s animals.

So if you see them about, make sure to donate what you can and show them (and our animals) some love ❣

October 1st is National Black Dog Day but did you know that black dogs are the least likely colour to be adopted? 🖤🖤🖤

Some people attribute this to colour association with black being seen as evil or dark in certain cultures and superstitions. Others find black pets harder to photograph and thus stay away from un-instagramable pets.

We know that black dogs are just as loyal, intelligent and beautiful as their colourful companions so why not show them some love in the comments below!
