Why choose K9 Kindergarten ? We asked our clients their thoughts.
Meet Emma and her lovely owners, David and Leah.
Emma is an almost-3-year-old Mini American Shepherd (MAS), small in size but packed with energy, brains, and a big personality!
Why did you choose k9 Kindergarten?
We wanted to get into dog sports, but we knew we needed to start with the basics. That’s what drew us to K9 Kindergarten. They offered everything from puppy classes through to full agility training. Even better, Vicky had experience with the MAS breed, which was a huge comfort. Emma wasn’t the easiest puppy and having trainers who truly understood her was a game-changer.
What courses have you done with us?
Over the last few years, we’ve completed:
🐶 Puppy Elementary
🐾 Beyond Basics
🐶 Puppy Socialisation Sessions
🐾 Agility From Scratch
👃 Sniff & Seek Course
👃 Scent Training Live Venue
Plus, we regularly do 1:1 Agility lessons and train weekly with the Agility Club.
Our proudest achievement?
Without a doubt, it’s the journey we’ve had with Emma. MAS dogs are known for being intense, and Emma definitely lived up to that! Thanks to Vicky’s endless patience, advice, and reassurance (no matter how crazy we sounded!), Emma has become a much more rounded version of herself. She’s still reactive, and it’s something we continue to work on, but having K9 Kindergarten as our support network has been invaluable.
Last year, we started competing in Steeplechase classes but struggled with her reactivity in busy show environments. Despite all our hard work, Emma’s natural instincts often took over. But Vicky never gave up on us. They supported us through it all, offered creative solutions, and encouraged us to take a step back when we needed to.
In February, Emma started competing again, this time in full agility, and she’s already reached Grade 3! She still has days where she finds it tough to stay focused in unfamiliar places, but the difference is incredible. Knowing we have the continued support of K9 Kindergarten makes a world of difference.
What we love most about K9 Kindergarten?
Where do we start. The unwavering support, kindness, and genuine passion Vicky has for helping dogs and their humans. They go above and beyond not just in training, but in truly understanding and supporting your journey.
There’s always something going on. Vicky puts so much effort into thinking of different classes and activities.
The cherry on top is that it really is a club for everyone. Everyone’s so nice. We’ve made friends, human and dog alike.
Our advice to anyone thinking about dog training?
Don’t hesitate, just go for it! Whether you have a tricky puppy or want to explore dog sports, finding the right support makes all the difference. We’re so glad we found K9 Kindergarten, and we wouldn’t be where we are without them.
