We just wanted to take a moment to share some heartbreaking news. Barney, our beloved gentle giant, has made his way across the rainbow bridge - with his tail wagging and a ball in his mouth.
We have spent over a year with him, learning and bonding with him. He became a part of us, and heās left a barney-shaped hole in our hearts. Weāre grateful for the time we shared with him, and we forever get to keep the memories of his best moments with us.
Through all the sunshine and the rain, the stubbornness without his coat and the slobber-fueled kisses that we shared - Barney was always a joy to be around, and we were extremely lucky to have met his owners when we did - because he changed our lives for the better.
Our thoughts and support goes out to his pawfect parents at this time. Their love for him was contagious, and he was raised with so much patience, joy and compassion and it truly reflected on him. Theyāre genuinely amazing people, and they did everything right - and we hope that they remember that.
āWhen I first met Barney, I knew that heād become part of us. He just had that smile, paired with his d***y face, and he became my friend. He was strong, fast and dribbly - and I knew that he loved us back when he started to have his tantrum days, because he knew he could get away with it. We couldnāt get mad at him, even if he did steal our breakfast out of our hands or push our dog over into mud on the field. It wonāt be the same without him, and Iām so glad that we have a plethora of videos and pictures to look over whenever I need to see his smile. Until we meet again, Barney Boy, sweet dreams ā¤ļøā - Dani
āBarney didn't exactly like me when we first met, especially not when I tried to go into his house. While he absolutely adored Dani and Tia, I had to earn his love, and it took me over a year to do. But once I had earned it? He was one of the sweetest, most loving pups I had ever met, always trying to jump up and give kisses. Barney was so unique, and I know the phrase is thrown around a lot, but Barney was truly one of a kind. And while I can't count the number of bruises I got from the not-so-gentle giant with my fingers, neither can I count the amazing memories that I will treasure forever. I know he has safely crossed that rainbow bridge and is running through fields with a bunch of new friends. Barney was the first dog I really had to work to get to trust me, and I am so glad I did. I will truly never forget Barney Boy š" - Rhea
āThis is really hard to write, I never thought Iād have to bring up the courage to do so. Barney was goofy, loveable and also very stubborn. If he didnāt want it our way, it had to be his way - and honestly, his way wasnāt so bad. The first thing I think of when I picture Barney is the amount of times where he would purposefully knock my phone out of my hand so he could get my full attention - he was quite camera shy when he was giving me affection, almost like he didnāt want Dani or Rhea to be jealous that he loved me the most! He loved rolling in mud, but god forbid a bit of rain gets on him without his coat on - heād plant his feet and Iād physically have to drag him to shelter, thatās the only time heād use his weight and strength against me - but I love him for it. Even in public if we were to see him out in the wild, heād see me and stare (or almost pulling his owners over to get to me) and I am grateful to be one of his favourite people - Iām extremely lucky. I love you Barney, you will always be in my heart, sleep well šā - Tia
