Wonky Pets Rescue have a fantastic neutering scheme for cats within the Swad and Burton area, for a minimum donation of £20 you can book your cats or local strays in for neutering and microchip if you're in genuine financial hardship. This is such an incredible scheme to have running locally, you just need to be able to get your cats to Bretby on the day. Multiple spaces free in June, please email only.

Rabbits are more work than you might think 🐇 🐰

Snowy is hiding away with the coming Easter Sunday!!🫣

With Easter this coming Sunday let this be a reminder that rabbits are NOT GIFTS and should NOT be purchased for an Easter present!! They are LIVING BEINGS and a 8-14 year commitment. Not a “toy” to buy and dispose once bored of.
If you wish to “buy a rabbit” then please do look to buy a REAL TOY such as a rabbit plushie/teddy.

Rabbits are a complex, difficult animal to care for… just because they are quiet does not mean they do not suffer. Rarely do they enjoy being handled or overly petted.

We are already seeing a number of posts of people requesting baby rabbits for Easter😢. Of course, if you have done the research and have the correct set up then that’s awesome but the reality is many of these baby rabbits will end up dumped or in rescues after the “Easter fun”.

Please save a rabbit this Easter and buy a plushie/teddy instead!😟
