Pupz 'n' Pawz Pupz 'n' Pawz is the parent company of both ExcaliburDax (mini dachshund breeding) and Havok K9 (dog training) based in Burrington, North Devon

Sam is a Dog Trainer who manages the Day Care Centre and Darren is a Dog Trainer and Behaviourist who runs the group training classes and the 1-2-1 behavioural training sessions. Kat is our Dog Groomer and manages the Grooming Studio. Hayden & Hayley are our trainee Dog Trainers who works closely with Darren and also in our day care centre. Sophie, Ethan, Liz, Nat, Sam & Pip all work in our day ca

re centre. Nicola is our cleaner and we have 4 work placement students from Cannington College. We are fully qualified in Dog and Puppy Training, Dog and Animal Psychology & Behaviour, Dog Grooming, First Aid/Veterinary Assistant, Dog Rehabilitation and Dog Nutrition. All staff are CRB checked and have undergone recent COVID-19 training. We are also licenced with Mendip District Council for day care and home boarding (Licence Number: LN/009408408) and are fully insured for your peace of mind. Between us we have 23 dogs (ranging from Mini Dachshund to Belgian Malinois).

And so it's on to the next project and the second stage of the kitchen. Now we have proper storage in the utility it's time to open up the main kitchen whilst modernising it to match. We found it odd that the main kitchen was the smaller room but had the majority of storage whilst the utility was massively under used, so we decided to trim down the storage and increase useable surface area for prep. We've also decided to expose some hidden features and will remove the sink and cooker surround as its all rather dated.

Stage 1.... remove all the wall mounted cupboards, needless boxing in and coving.

Stage 2.... plumber to disconnect sink and sort gas supply, then we can remove sink and lower units.

Stage 3.... remove the old and very damaged floor.

Stage 4..... welcolm back MB Renovations to tidy up the mess we've made and fit the new low level cupboards.

It's gonna be a busy 2 months ....

(We did find a very old bag of crisps buried under the cupboards that shows how long ago it was last done...... don't ask 🫣)

Will be filled over a few days.... thankfully we are on our own private well/bore water supply here.

Still the pump/filter to install along with the debris skimmer, add pool chemicals and should be good to go..... at last ! 😉

So the weather forecast for today was for overcast and cooler so we thought it would be a good time to start yet another outdoor project, the first part of which is removing a large expanse of turf prior to levelling the very uneven ground 😂 rapidly came to the conclusion it was a terrible idea as we have had temps of 44c in the sun ☀️. However work continues as we are on a timeline.

Finally, the first part of the kitchen (utility area) is 99.9% complete.

Gone is the 1940's decor, old tiled floor and broken cupboards to be replaced with something clean and modern and we now actually have useful storage !

Couple of before (estate agents pic.... it was nowhere near that clean and tidy) and during pictures along with the finished article. Now on to the second part.........

Maybe people will stop either driving past us or going to the wrong Taw View now. Looks better too 👍

We've been a bit quiet of late on social media, not because there's nothing going on though..... in fact, quite the opposite.

The kitchen / utility room renovation is now in full swing with all the old units, sink and flooring removed. Walls and ceiling have been skimmed, primed and painted and we're now awaiting delivery of a nice new floor and kitchen units ready to be fitted next week.

The whole project needs to be done one room after the other as we need an area that can be used to sort the dogs food etc, so once the utility area is complete we can start all over again ripping out the main kitchen and hopefully create a more spacious modern kitchen.
