The weather is continuing to be very hot over the next couple of days. Please remember no dog needs to go out every day - but they will still do it for their owners. 😔

🌟 Meet the Team: Claire 🌟

As part of Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month, we’re delighted to introduce Claire, our incredible Trainee Registered Veterinary Nurse, now in her second year of training.

Alongside her studies at Plumpton College on day release, Claire spends her time in practice gaining hands on experience, building her nursing skills and supporting the team every day as she works towards qualification.

Claire is always on the go and always ready to help. She has a great knack for spotting what needs doing next and plays a big part in helping the practice run faster and smoother for both the team and our patients.

💙 We are so proud of Claire’s progress and love having her as part of our nursing team during Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month and beyond.

💙🐾 BRAVEHEART AWARD WINNER – MISSY 🐾💙

A huge congratulations to beautiful Missy, our very deserving Braveheart Award recipient. 🏅

Missy, a sweet Pug cross, came to see us after becoming very unwell. Her owners noticed she was straining to urinate, alongside vomiting, pain and general discomfort. Further investigations showed a severely distended bladder and multiple bladder stones causing a urinary blockage — a painful and potentially life‑threatening condition.

Despite feeling so poorly, Missy was incredibly brave throughout her treatment. After emergency catheterisation to relieve the blockage, she went on to have surgery to remove a large number of bladder stones, including very small, sand‑like stones lodged deep within the bladder and urethra.

Thanks to the dedication of her owners and the care of our veterinary team, Missy is now back to being bright, happy and comfortable again. She’s recovering beautifully, enjoying life, and has started a specialist diet to help reduce the risk of future stones. 🩺✨

💡 Important reminder for pet owners:
Straining to urinate, repeated squatting with little or no urine passed, or signs of pain when trying to wee are a veterinary emergency — particularly in male dogs. If you notice this in your pet, please contact us straight away for advice.

Well done, Missy — you were an absolute superstar every step of the way, and we’re so proud of you. 💙
