Mishka and I have been working on her reactivity towards other dogs for a bit now and she’s making such amazing progress. Happily interacting with a group we met on our walk this morning.

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen Odin but he was very relaxed when I turned up. We headed to a little secure location where we could safely work on taking off and putting on his harness. Odin isn’t a fan of having people reaching over him and being in his space so having the trust in me to be able to do this is a big thing for him.

I’ve been working with Bowie on his reactive behaviour towards other dogs and his anxiety in busy places. Today we were walking through Haywards Heath following other dogs around without any barking, growling or signs of distress, such a nice day to see such progress from him.

Good to see Odin again this morning, he was very pleased to see me and was happy without his muzzle on with me in the house again. ❤️🐾

A huge step forwards for Odin this morning! Whenever I got to work with Odin he always has his muzzle on when I arrive to ensure everyone is safe, we do remove it after our session and I spend time with him without it but today was the first time I arrived at the house and he didn’t have his muzzle on. His owner let him out into the garden, I turned away briefly so as not to seem like a threat scattered a few treats for him and waited to see if it would be me or the treats that got eaten 🫣 clearly sausages are more tasty than I am and Odin was very happy to see me. We moved on to me going in the house with Odin and his owner, something I would not have been able to do previously at the start of our sessions.
So pleased with this fellas progress, everyone is another step in the right direction.

I got to spend some time with this pretty young lady this afternoon, only 4 months old Laya’s owner wanted some tips on raising a calm well behaved dog. We discussed training calmness, toilet training and building confidence being left alone. I’m looking forward to seeing how she progresses in our next session.

Ruby is quite an anxious dog and one of her big problems is walking off her own driveway, this is due to her living on a very busy road and the traffic scares her. So today we went to a local park with a reasonably busy road running alongside and started to build a positive association with the traffic. By working in the park rather than on her own driveway we were able to gain more distance and reduce the amount of cars passing by at speed, making it an easier environment for Ruby to learn in.

Someone doesn’t seem to mind the weather today 🤦🏻‍♂️

Good to be back with Odin after the Christmas break. We are still working on building trust for the everyday things people would normally take for granted. It’s a slow but important process when working with such a big powerful dog but it’s worth it to see results like these.
Allowing me to put his harness on is a big deal, having to reach over and around him to do this meals he has to be completely comfortable with me.

Odin and I had our last session of the year this morning. We headed to a little secure location where we worked on taking off and putting back on his harness (another new behaviour for us) then we got to play around and have some cuddles as well.
