Lillingstone Pick Your Own

Celebrating Autumn with a smashing family day out!

Lillingstone Pick Your Own is Buckingham’s original pumpkin patch which opened it’s Farm gates for the first time in October 2018. The brain child of Tom Phillips, a first generation farmer and his wife, a primary school teacher. With free entry families can pick their own special pumpkin, which have all been planted from seed and nurtured by hand.

Combining both our passions in Farming and education we wanted to create an occasion for people to come and enjoy being in the beautiful English countryside. It doesn’t stop at perfect pumpkins! With free tractor rides, face painting, pony rides, refreshments and of course the chance to capture the fun of the day with photo boards. It’s a real opportunity to create memories for life, right on the doorstep of the great outdoors.

The success of last year’s pumpkin patch has meant we have expanded the patch. It’s a real family effort helping to plant the seeds at the beginning of the season. We grow them in our green house until they are strong enough to be planted out in June. It’s a back breaking job caring for the plants with all weeding carried out by hand. The pumpkins are then cut off of their vines during the first week of October in preparation for opening.
