Hertfordshire Zoo is voted Hertfordshire’s No.1 Outdoor Attraction by Trip Advisor and is set in the beautiful surrounding of Broxbourne Woods in the Heart of the Hertfordshire Countryside. Hertfordshire Zoo is home to over 800 exotic animals including Amur tigers, Asiatic lions, snow leopards, as well as penguins, red pandas, anacondas, sloths, and many more. The Zoo is home to great attractions

like World of Dinosaurs, one of the best animatronic dinosaur adventure trails in the UK. As well as a giant paddling pool, Dino Adventure Golf the ‘Rex Express’ train, and 5 adventure indoor & outdoor play areas.

We have a tapir update! 💜

Recently, we shared the news that our male lowland tapir, Temoko, would be leaving Hertfordshire Zoo. However, due to a change in circumstances, we’re delighted to announce that Temoko will now be staying right here with us! 🙌

Having been part of the our family for 23 years, Temoko is a much-loved resident. We’re thrilled to reintroduce him as our breeding male, helping secure the future of this Vulnerable species. ✨

Here’s to many more years with Temoko and helping secure a brighter future for lowland tapirs! 🫶

During the move, we also discovered we have two female pups, who will eventually head to other zoos in the future! 🙌

Fifi’s pregnancy era looks good on her…🥹

Countdown is on to Native Species Festival! 🍃

Join us this half term between Monday 25th- Friday 29th May for a week dedicated to celebrating the wildlife on our doorstep; from the fungi beneath our feet to much-loved mammals like hedgehogs. 🦔

Throughout the week, we’ll be joined by both local and UK-wide conservation organisations. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including talks on local wildlife, sand lizard feeding, and demonstrations on how to build a bug hotel and more! 🦎

This is an opportunity to learn more about the species we live alongside, yet so often overlook! 🙌
