For a limited time, we’re offering a £45 lump check, which includes:

• A 15-minute consultation with a vet
• A fine needle aspirate sample
• In-house analysis using our AI-powered machine
• A follow-up call from the vet to discuss the results and next steps

Additional lumps can be assessed for £30 each, with a maximum of three lumps sampled per consultation.

Please remember that an FNA is not always 100% diagnostic, but it can provide valuable information about the lump and help us decide on the best plan moving forward.

🐦 Found a baby bird? Here’s what you need to know! 🐦

At this time of year, it’s common to see young birds on the ground, and our first instinct is often to help. However, many of these birds don’t actually need rescuing!

🪶 If the bird is fully feathered, hopping around, and appears bright and alert, it’s likely a fledgling learning to fly. Its parents are usually nearby and still feeding it, so the best thing to do is often to leave it alone and keep pets away.

🚨 A bird may need help if:
• It has few or no feathers
• It is visibly injured
• It has been caught by a cat
• It is weak, unresponsive, or struggling to stand

If you find an uninjured nestling and can safely locate the nest, you can place it back. Contrary to popular belief, parent birds will not reject their young because of human scent.

👋 Hi everyone!

I thought it was about time I introduced myself!

I’m Robyn, one of the new vets here at Highfield Vets. I graduated in 2024 and have a particular interest in surgery and ophthalmology, but I love all aspects of general practice and getting to know both our patients and their owners.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with my pets, getting stuck into a good book, or planning my next adventure.

I’m also going to be helping out with our social media pages, so you may be seeing a bit more of me here! 📱🐾

We’ll be sharing pet health tips, behind-the-scenes glimpses of practice life, patient stories (with owner permission), team introductions, and plenty of adorable pet photos.
