So it’s home! Latest technology finally joined our team. This beauty (not Gary😉) can do 4K videos but more importantly offers near-infrared technology, facilitating identification of sentinel lymph node. This is crucial in accurate staging of cancerous lumps and guides postoperative treatment in cancers. It can be also used for easier identification of thoracic duct in surgical treatment of chylothorax as well as “lighting up” bile duct in gall bladder removal.

Today we start the day with a laparoscopic gallbladder removal. It is often done for mucocele of the gallbladder, which didn’t respond to conservative treatment.
The keyhole approach can be used successfully as long as the mucocele didn’t progress affecting the liver. This is one of many conditions when early intervention prevents longterm problems.

We’re happy to assist with preoperative case reviews, including imaging and bloodwork evaluation. Patients are typically discharged within 24 hours post-op.

Our Ear Clinic is every Thursday and Friday afternoon. Consultations are for 30’ where we do ear swabs and attempt awake video otoscopy to show you on the screen the inside of your pet’s ear so you know what we are dealing with 👍 Ear issues can progress and become chronic when it’s really difficult to deal with them. Our RVNs are specially trained not only to monitor patients under general anaesthesia but also to help ventilate them during procedures. Ventilator gives us a whole new level of control over vital functions, making surgeries so much safer.

Third most common referral for diagnostic endoscopy at our clinic is colonoscopy, ie camera test examining inside of the re**um and the rest of the colon. We can investigate causes of weight loss, chronic diarrhoea or possible tumours and polyps in the intestine. During the procedure we can take biopsies and even remove certain lumps fully.
