A protection dog is only as good as its ability to understand when protection is needed.

Confidence, drive and power are important, but true quality comes from balance. The ability to switch on when required, respond with purpose and then settle back into everyday life without hesitation.

At PDW, we believe a well-balanced protection dog should be just as comfortable relaxing with the family as they are carrying out their job.

It’s not about being switched on 24/7. It’s about knowing exactly when to be.

From starting in a field with no electricity or running water to where we are today, we’ve come a long way.

Over the years, we’ve reinvested everything back into the business, constantly expanding, improving and building facilities that put the dogs first.

From heated and air-conditioned environments to swimming pools and what we believe is the best environmental training facility in the world for dogs, The Canine Colosseum.

Everything we’ve built has been with one purpose: to improve the quality of life, welfare and training of the dogs in our care.

We’ve never stopped investing, never stopped improving and never stopped pushing the boundaries of what a dog training facility can be.

Here’s a look at our two current sites and how far we’ve come from that muddy field all those years ago.

A real specimen of a dog. Big, strong, powerful and loyal.

He really defines everything a Cane Corso should be. Loyal, loving, sweet and honest, with the ability to switch on and work when needed.

These breeds are not for everyone, nor are they suited to every environment. More often than not, they’re completely misunderstood, and in the wrong hands, they can become something they were never meant to be.

But in the right hands, in the right home, with the right people, they make truly incredible family guardians.

A perfect balance of power, loyalty and love. 🖤

There’s a bond between a human and a dog that’s hard to put into words. Built on trust, loyalty and a connection that goes beyond what’s said.

A dog doesn’t care about your status, your success or what you have. They care about who you are, how you treat them and the trust you build together.

Meet Terry, our Giant Schnauzer! 🐺

His looks match his character. He’s a funny dog with so much personality, and he certainly knows who he likes! But once Terry loves you, you’ll quickly realise he’s a big softy deep down.

When it comes to work, though, he’s a different dog. Serious, enthusiastic and always ready to get stuck into something together. He absolutely loves having a job to do.

His ears will tell you which way the wind is blowing, but other than that, he makes a fantastic family dog. Loving, loyal and full of character.

A true wolf in sheep’s clothing. 🐺
