The final step in Liza's CALM Method is simple: Move at the dog's pace.

Taking the time a dog needs to feel safe doesn't slow progress, it helps create calmer, more confident dogs for every groom that follows.

If your dog finds grooming stressful, we're here to help.

Meet Jemma! 👋🐾

I'm continuing to introduce you to the amazing team here at The Pet Studio, and this time it's Jemma's turn.

We're chatting about this gorgeous Wire-Haired Fox Terrier, why some breeds need hand stripping rather than clipping, and what makes this type of grooming so important for the coat.

I hope you enjoy getting to know the team a little better! 💙

Summer can be just as tough on your dog's coat as winter.

Grass seeds, pollen, swimming and humid weather can all lead to knots and matting much faster than you'd think.

A quick brush after walks and a simple check with your hands can make all the difference.

Not sure you're using the right brush? Just ask me next time you're in the salon!

Forget the idea that dogs need a "dominant" owner.

The best results come from calm, confident leadership built on trust, not force.

It's the third step in Liza's CALM Method, and it's at the heart of how we work with every dog at The Pet Studio.

Every great salon is built on a great team, and we thought it was about time you met one of ours!

In this video, Liza and Skye are talking through this lovely Toy Poodle before their groom, giving you a little behind-the-scenes look.

Keep an eye out for more videos coming soon, introducing more of the people behind The Pet Studio, so you can get to know the team who care for your dogs every day.

Every dog is different, which is why we never take a one-size-fits-all approach.

The second step of Liza's CALM Method is Assess. This is about taking the time to understand what each dog is telling us before the groom begins.

It's one of the reasons so many nervous dogs thrive with us.

Do you need experience to become a dog groomer? Not at all.

Many of our students start with no professional experience, just a passion for dogs and a desire to learn.

Our City & Guilds course gives you the skills, confidence and support to build a rewarding career.

The best grooming appointments don't start with the clippers, they start with connection.

Helping a dog feel safe and building trust is the foundation of everything we do at The Pet Studio.

Next week, we'll share the next step in Liza's CALM Method.

Great dog groomers do far more than clip coats.

They understand behaviour, communicate with owners and know how to adapt to every dog they meet.

That's why our City & Guilds course focuses on building confident, well-rounded groomers, not just teaching techniques.
