Please, please, please watch out for your dogs this week (and throughout the hot summer months) in these very warm temperatures! ☀️ HEAT STROKE CAN KILL! ‼️
☀️12-15 °C - go ahead and enjoy your walk!
☀️16-19 °C - safe to exercise your dog, but cautious with larger, heavier or flat-faced breeds
☀️❗️20-23 °C - if exercised too vigorously, or have existing health issues, heat stroke can occur
☀️‼️24-27 °C - exercise with extreme caution. Large, overweight, young or flat-faced dogs might struggle in these temps
☀️‼️❗️28-31 °C - this range is dangerous for all dogs, and life threatening to larger breeds, puppies, overweight or flat-faced dogs
☀️‼️‼️32+ °C - significant risk - no matter dog’s condition, size or breed.
Look out for heavy panting, excessive drooling, lethargy, drowsiness, uncoordinated movements, a state of collapse or vomiting - if any of these symptoms occur, contact your vet, immediately.
Please keep your dog safe and watch out for others too 🐶
