The purpose of the Charity is to rescue, care for and re-home abandoned dogs, or dogs who's owners sadly are no longer able to care for them. At Jerry Green Dog Rescue, we use social media to keep you, our 'pawsome supporters', up to date with our work and opportunities to get involved. It's also a place for people to share experiences if they wish, and to start wider conversations about dogs, and their welfare. When Winnie first arrived at Jerry Green Dog Rescue, this bouncy 6-month-old Rottweiler puppy was looking for a second chance after her previous owner sadly passed away.

Although she adored people, losing the person she knew and loved had left Winnie struggling to feel secure. She found being left alone particularly difficult, becoming distressed even when the team stepped away for just a short time.

With medication to help ease her anxiety and patient support from our team, Winnie spent time in a home-like environment, learning to settle at her own pace. Gradually, she began to understand that being left alone didn’t mean she’d been forgotten.

Before long, a special family came along who understood her needs and were committed to continuing her training. After several successful Meet&Match® visits, Winnie was ready to start her new chapter. 🥰

Today, Winnie is enjoying family life and plenty of adventures with her wonderful adopters. They shared:

“Winnie’s doing well, never stops eating and loves her days out – especially trips to the Donkey Sanctuary and the beach!”

It thanks to your support, that dogs like Winnie can receive the patience, care and understanding they need to overcome difficult beginnings and find a safe, loving home. 💚🐾

Hello! We're Kopparberg, Aspall, Scrumpy, Weston, Rattler and Mout! 🐾

We're 15-week-old Akita x Staffie puppies ready to find our forever homes. We're full of beans, always on the go, and we're certainly not short on personality!

We haven't had the best start in life, so we need patient, committed families who will help us grow into happy, confident dogs.

Our Akita and Staffie heritage means we have the potential to grow into strong dogs, and we'll need humans who appreciate the characteristics of both breeds. Puppy classes and continued socialisation will be super important for us.

We can potentially live with other dogs, animals, and children providing successful introductions. Any resident dogs will need to be comfortable around larger, boisterous puppies, and children will need to be dog-savvy and confident around strong, energetic breeds.

If you're experienced and prepared to put in the work to help youngsters like us learn and flourish, we could be the companion you're looking for.

Whether it's providing a quiet place to recover or helping a dog build confidence, you'll play an important role in their journey to finding a loving home. 💚

We'll cover the costs of your foster dog's care, and our dedicated welfare team will support you every step of the way.

Every dog is different, and so is every foster home! At the moment, we're particularly in need of pet-free and child-free homes to help us support the dogs currently in our care. However, we'd still love to hear from anyone interested in fostering, as our dogs' needs are always changing. 🐶

Hello there, my name is Chunk! 🐶

I'm a 6-year-old Bulldog in search of a forever family who I can enjoy life with.

I have such a cheerful personality and love spending time with my people. I also have a playful side, there's nothing better than toys. The only thing that might beat my love for playing is a good bum scratch and a cuddle!

Because I love human company so much, I can find being left alone a little worrying. I'll need a patient family who can help with gradually building up my leaving hours.

I'd like to be the only pet in my new home so I can soak up all of the love and attention. However, I might enjoy having some doggy pals to go on walks with. I'm looking for a home with children aged 11+ who will be respectful when I need a bit of space.

Ernie, a handsome 6-year-old Labradoodle, came to Jerry Green Dog Rescue through our Home from Home® scheme after a change in his previous owner’s circumstances meant they could no longer give him the time and attention he needed.

As a single parent working long hours, they wanted Ernie to find a home where he could enjoy the companionship he deserved. Through Home from Home®, Ernie was able to stay with them while we searched for his forever family, avoiding a stay in kennels.

Although we expected interest for such a friendly Labradoodle to come flooding in, things were surprisingly quiet at first. Then an application arrived from a couple who had recently lost their beloved dog and were hoping to open their hearts to another.

After several unsuccessful applications elsewhere, they were beginning to lose hope – and had almost decided not to apply for Ernie! Thankfully, they took that final chance, and when they met him, it was love at first sight. 🥰

Now happily settled into his new home, Ernie is thriving with a family who adore him. His adopters recently shared:

“Things could not have gone any better. Ernie has fully settled in at home with us and is now a loved member of the family. He’s living his best life!”

We’re delighted that Ernie has found his perfect match and is enjoying the happy life he deserves. 💚🐾

It’s National Dog Adoption Day, and we’re pleased to share the story of a sweet dog who, after a tough start, is finally surrounded by the love he deserves. 💚

Nix, a 5-year-old Crossbreed, arrived into our care after he had sadly been abandoned.

He was covered in fleas, the infestation so severe the fleas could be seen moving through his coat. But despite what Nix had been through, he showed us what a lovely dog he is, and the kind of companion he could be.

As the team quickly got to work on making sure Nix had everything he needed, from a warm kennel to flea and worming treatment, the search for his perfect forever home began.

Not long after Nix arrived at the centre, a kind gentleman who had been searching for the perfect four-legged friend came to meet Nix. As soon as they met, they quickly formed a strong connection, and it was clear they were meant to be together.

Now, Nix is thriving in his forever home – enjoying walks, receiving the care he deserves, and surrounded by love. After a difficult start, we’re thrilled this lovely boy is living the life he was always meant to, thanks to your generous support.
