Let’s talk long reining. I think it is such an art and something that I do for endless hours with youngsters. I think it’s often over looked and under valued and I encourage people with older horses to go back to this fantastic skill. You can teach any horse almost any ridden skill from the long rein and I see it build calm confident young horses. I would most definitely put long reining above sitting on your young horse and I would advocate for that to be on all terrains. I’ve often started a horse under saddle without ever lunging them but putting in a lot of long reining hours.

With the increase of cases of Equine Influenza I am taking extra precautions in bio security. I would also appreciate if any clients can report to me if they have concerns regarding their horses health and flu so I can make an informed decision whether to visit. I will also not be competing or traveling my horse during this time to help try and stop the spread of this disease.
