🚨 Calling all Cat & Rabbit Owners! 🚨

We're creating new wall graphics for our dedicated cat and rabbit waiting areas at both our Middleton and Brackley practices, and we'd love to feature some of the pets that visit us.

Do you have a photo of your cat or rabbit that you'd be happy to share? Selected images will be used as part of a custom wall decal that will be displayed in both practices.

📸 To take part, simply email your photo to: [email protected]

📅 Submission deadline: 16/06/2026

Share your photo and help us create a space that celebrates the pets we care for every day!

Disclaimer: By submitting an image of your pet, you agree that Taylor Vets may use the image for marketing and promotional purposes, including printed and digital materials. Submission does not guarantee inclusion in the final design. Only cat and rabbit photographs will be considered for this project.

John’s on the road again! 🚗

On 11th June, John will be heading to BVA Live to speak about the realities of independent veterinary practice ownership and share his experience of building Taylor Vets.

We’re proud to see him representing independent practice and supporting the future of the veterinary profession. 💙

With temperatures set to soar this coming week. It's important to remember that some dogs can struggle to stay cool even in mild temperatures.

Dogs don’t handle heat the same way we do, and how they cope varies greatly. Age, breed, size, coat length, fitness, health, and how much they’re exercising all play a role in how well they cope with warmer temperatures.

Here are some Taylor Vets Top Tips for staying safe in the sun ☀️👇🏻

• Walk early in the morning or late in the evening when it’s cooler.
• Check the pavement with your hand; if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for their paws!
• Bring water and watch for signs of overheating like panting, drooling, or slowing down.
• Only walk in high temps if truly necessary, and stick to shaded areas for short walks.

‼️ It's important to remember there's no "𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹", so always put your dog’s needs first. ‼️

Stay safe in the sun, and call us if your pet shows signs of overheating.

May is Veterinary Nursing Awareness month and we want to take a moment to celebrate our team. 🩺⭐

Our incredible Nurses — Annabel, Charlotte, Chloe, Ellie, Ingrid, Lauren, Kirstin, Lin, Sophia, Rachel and Liv — and Veterinary Care Assistants — Mia, Astrid and Saffron — are the familiar faces who care for your pets with skill, compassion and unwavering dedication every single day.

Unfortunately we haven’t managed to get everyone pictured together… getting our fantastic team all in one place in a busy practice is nearly impossible! But every single one of them deserves recognition and appreciation.

A huge thank you to all of you for the hard work, care and support you give to our pets, owners and colleagues every day, it never goes unnoticed.

If our nursing team has helped you or your pet, we’d love for you to leave them a message in the comments below. 💙

Last week, Chloe’s rescue cat, Frog, brought home a tiny fledgling! Being Chloe, she couldn’t leave it without help and has since taken on the job of hand rearing the baby bird herself. We’re just not sure Frog expected her “gift” to turn into a long-term house guest!

🚨 We’re often asked what to do if you come across injured or seemingly abandoned wildlife, so here are a few important reminders:

👀 Observe From a Distance
Not all wild animals need help. Many young birds and mammals may look abandoned, but their parents are usually nearby and won’t return while people are present. Watch quietly for a while before intervening.

If the animal appears sick or injured, call the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999 for guidance.

You may also wish to contact a local wildlife rescue for advice:
• Tiggywinkles – 01844 292292
• Brackley Hogwatch – 07528 119416
• The Nutkin Ward – 07733 220266
• RSPCA – 0300 1234 999
• Bat Conservation Trust – 0345 130 0228
• Oxfordshire Wildlife Rescue – 07549 322464
• Animals in Need Northamptonshire – 01933 278080

⚠️ Always remember:
Wild animals may bite or scratch when frightened. For small birds, use a secure, ventilated box. For anything larger, always seek advice before attempting to handle them.
