My name is Kathryn/Kat (family call me Katie) I have lived in Brackley for the past 20 years on and off, attended Magdalen College School and worked in a few different places locally

🏠 I live in Brackley with my Husband, our 2 dogs (A Labrador Retriever Mollie 13 years old and A Staffordshire bull terrier Poppy 14.5 years old) 2 Cats (Mac 5 & Maggie 2) and our Tortoise Stanlette 🐢

💼 I started m

y working life working in a dog kennels, dog walking, waitressing, babysitting and working in pubs. I was given the opportunity to work in a local nursery and continued to for 7 years. I went on to further my childcare journey as a private nanny for a 5 years before the pandemic.

🩵 Once things opened up again I decided to follow my heart and started The Small Animal Care Company, Alongside working as a private cleaner and housekeeper.

🩺 For the last 2 years I have been working in a Veterinary Practice gaining lots of experience, knowledge, meeting and working with the most amazing people, animals and gaining my Veterinary Care Assistants diploma.

🐾 I made the decision to return to self employment recently as although I loved my time working in a team, I thrive having the freedom to take care of peoples animals in their own home and run my own business

😻 Meet Milo & Darwin 😻

While their family were away ✈️, I visited this pair twice a day to make sure they were happy and well cared for.

When I first started caring for the boys a few years ago they could be quite nervous, but we’ve slowly built up trust and now love a fuss 🥰 — so we made sure they enjoyed plenty of that during my visits!

Each visit included:
✅ Fresh food & clean bowls
✅ Water topped up
✅ Litter tray/toilet area cleaned
✅ Plenty of cuddles and attention

Their family also received regular updates and photos for peace of mind while they were away. 🐾💖

💕 Meet Cookie & Cinnamon 💕

While their family were away ✈️, I visited these beautiful girls once a day to make sure they were happy and well cared for.

Cinnamon & Cookie love their food 🥰 — so I made sure they enjoyed plenty of fresh veggies during my visits! 🥗

Each visit included:
✅ Fresh food prepared & bowls cleaned
✅ Water topped up
✅ Lots of fresh hay topped up
✅ Their house area was fully cleaned, any soiled hay removed and clean p*e pads replaced
✅ Fresh nuggets

😻😻 Cassie, Grace, Nora & Charlie 😻😻

When this beautiful families owners needed to go away for the evening they asked if I could pop in and feed them 😋

Dinner, fuss and fresh water top up was all that was needed for this fabulous four 💖

💕 Meet Holly 💕

While her family were off on holiday ✈️, I popped in once a day to make sure this gorgeous girl was happy and cared for.

Holly is a big fan of Dreamies, sofa snuggles, and a good brush 🥰 — so we made sure she got plenty of all three!

Each visit included fresh food, clean bowls, water top-ups, her joint aid given with a tasty Lick-e-Lix, and of course a tidy litter tray. Her family also received regular updates and photos for peace of mind while they were away. 🐾💖

Roary & Riley 😍🐾

The boys just needed a break in the afternoon whilst their owners were at work 🥰
They were very happy to have a 20 minute pop in to play out in the garden, have some fuss, fresh water top up and some sausage treats ❤️

🗓️ August has been so unbelievably busy 🥰

📸 So much so I haven’t had a chance to catch up on my socials and post pictures of all the gorgeous animals I have had the pleasure of taking care of 🥹

❤️ I want to thank each and every person who has requested my services, enquired, tagged, recommended and trusted me to take care of their pets so far🫶🏻🐾

🐹 Coco & Chloé 🐹

Twice-daily visits for the adorable Coco and Chloé the guinea pigs ❤️ included feeding, providing fresh water, and spot cleaning their enclosure.

During my first visit, I noticed that Coco’s breathing had a slight crackle, and she didn’t seem her usual bright, chatty self.

Having an emergency contact for every animal in my care allows me to raise concerns promptly and appropriately. Fortunately, Coco and Chloé had a vet in the family, who was able to examine Coco and prescribe a course of antibiotics to be administered twice daily.

By the second day, Coco was back to her cheerful, active self—chatting away and happily running around with her sister!

At The Small Animal Care Company, I pride myself on delivering attentive, compassionate care tailored to each animal’s needs. You can rest assured that every pet is treated with the same love and dedication I would give my own 🥰🐾

🐕‍🦺 FREDDIE 🐾

A one-hour evening visit to walk Freddie and provide his dinner, followed by a morning visit for his breakfast and another walk, was all that was needed while his family was away visiting relatives. It was a pleasure to care for this lovely boy 🐾🎾🫶🏻

😻FREDDIE😻

Freddie’s owner contacted me to provide care for him during their time away, requesting one visit per day, as another family member would be assisting in the evenings.

Freddie is a very special cat who requires insulin injections every twelve hours due to his diabetes diagnosis, as well as thyroid medication to be administered with his breakfast.

We arranged a visit the day before the care period began to ensure everyone was comfortable with the medication routine and overall care instructions.

During my morning visits, I ensured his water intake was measured, his insulin injection was administered, and he received the correct portion of food—each detail carefully recorded in his care log. I also provided regular updates to his owners for their peace of mind.

As you can see (and hear!), Freddie was content and thoroughly enjoyed his morning chats. 😹

✨VENUS🪐

Venus, a rescue Doberman, has recently found her forever home ❤️
Prior to her adoption, her new owners had a pre-existing evening commitment with friends at a local event.
They kindly asked if I could visit Venus twice during the evening to ensure she was settled and well cared for 🥰

The first visit was scheduled for 6:00 PM, during which I spent an hour playing ball with her in the garden and provided her evening meal 🐾
The second visit was at 9:30 PM for approximately 30 minutes, allowing her a toilet break and some playtime before bedtime 🎾

To ensure a smooth transition, we arranged a prior meeting so I could become familiar with Venus and ensure she was comfortable with my presence 😊

Although initially a little nervous, Venus quickly warmed up and showed a playful and affectionate nature. She responded well to interaction, enjoyed companionship, and sought attention and engagement 😍

By the end of the evening, she had even learned to drop her ball on command! 👏
