Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of my lovely clients for being so understanding this week whilst I’ve had to move appointments around and finish early some days. ❤️
As many of you know, my little dachshund Ritchie suffered with IVDD and spinal paralysis last year and underwent emergency spinal surgery. Although he adapted amazingly to life in his wheels and has been such a happy boy, he sadly had a painful flare up again this week and is now back on strict bed rest and medication.
Usually he stays with my mother in law whilst I’m at work as she works from home, but she is currently away in Canada. Unfortunately when I’ve had to leave him home alone this week, he’s become extremely distressed, crying, howling and working himself up the whole time I’m gone. Taking him into the salon unfortunately isn’t suitable at the moment either as he needs a calm, quiet environment to rest and recover properly.
So this week I’ve had to rearrange appointments and reduce my working hours so I can get back home to him sooner. I genuinely appreciate everybody’s patience and kindness more than you know.
Truthfully, I’m struggling a bit emotionally with it all. Accepting that my dog will never walk again has already been hard enough, and this flare up has felt like such a setback after all the progress and hard work we’ve both put in. It’s heartbreaking seeing him uncomfortable again.
Thank you for continuing to support my little business whilst I try to navigate everything this week. It means the world to me and Ritchie. ❤️
