Next up is Jodie one of our student veterinary nurses.

Hi 👋 I’m Jodie 🌸 I’m a third year student due to sit my OSCE’s very soon😱

Why did you want to become a veterinary nurse?

I’ve always loved animals🐱🐶 but after lockdown I was looking to start a new career and Croft took a chance on me which I am forever grateful for 🤩

What pets do you own?

I have a silly spaniel who is 11 My mum is a dog boarder which means we are surrounded by furry friends 🐾

What makes you smile at work?

Busy operation days with lots of surgeries🩺🩻 and the team🤓

What are your favourite areas of nursing?

I like being in theatre👩‍⚕️ I also like meeting our patients💗

What is your best vet nurse skill?

Being a mini Sarah (the head nurse)🤭

Why did you want to become a veterinary nurse?

Veterinary nursing runs in my family and it felt like the right path to take having grown up on a farm with lots of animals 🐾.

What pets do you own?
1 black lab, 3 cats and 1 horse.

What makes you smile at work?

Student achievements, cat days and a great team. 😻🏆

What are your favourite areas of nursing?

Anaesthesia and emergency 🚨

What is your best vet nurse skill?

Teaching students/ Being able to place an intravenous Catheter in the wriggliest of patients. 🫨

Why did you want to become a veterinary nurse?

I've wanted to be a vet nurse since I was young. I've always loved taking care of animals. Plus the puppy and kitten cuddles do make it worthwhile 🐶🐱

What pets do you own?

I own a blind Greyhound called Charlie. Who sends most of his time upside-down on the sofa. ❤️

What makes you smile at work?

My work colleagues make me smile and seeing how happy and excited patients are coming into the practice. 🥰

What are your favourite areas of nursing?

I love being in theatre monitoring patients making sure they get home to their owners. I also like laboratory work 🩺

What is your best vet nurse skills?

Monitoring anaesthetics and preparing laboratory slides/looking down a microscope🦠🔬

Kicking off the week is Jennifer

My name is Jennifer, I have been in the veterinary industry for 14 years. I love baking and going on walks with the pooches on my time off.

Why did you want to become a veterinary nurse?

I have always wanted to care for animals it was my childhood dream or an astronaut 😂. I wanted to take care of poorly pets and give them all the love and healing they need to get better and to help to educate owners along the way.

What pets do you own?

I have a Labrador cross called Ben, a Labrador called Bagel and two cats called Bowie and Tash. They are my world 🌍

What makes you smile at work 😊?

My team!! They are the best 💙. Also, when my weight clinic patients are hitting their goals I love to see the smile it puts on both the pets and owners faces.

What are you favourite areas of nursing?

Consulting!! Everyone knows I love to communicate with the clients and their pets and help them in anyway I can 🫶.

What is your best vet nurse skill?

Giving patients and my colleagues hugs when they need one.

The simple answer is yes; your pet will need an annual booster after their initial vaccination.💉

This is vital in maintaining your pet's protection from harmful diseases.🚫

Not all vaccinations are required yearly; some may only be needed every three years, so it's essential to keep up to date with your pet's vaccinations and when they had them.✅
