From Saturday 6th September, our Saturday clinics will be moving from our Irby branch to our Neston branch. 🏥✨

Our Neston clinic offers a much larger space, allowing us to accommodate more clients comfortably - especially with the exciting influx of new Cranmore clients joining us!

National Dog Day is celebrated every year on 26th August to recognise the incredible role dogs play in our lives.🐶
From loyal companions, to working animals and members of the family, it’s a day to appreciate their unconditional love and to raise awareness about adoption and the importance of giving every dog a loving home.

Ever wondered what happens during a dental? 🦷
If you look at the photo's below you can see the difference in Penny's teeth before and after her dental scale and polish.
For a dental procedure they go under general anaesthetic with a breathing tube placed down their throat to help them with their breathing- the string is placed around just to keep it in place. The vet will then chart their teeth with a dental probe - exactly like our own dentist would use. They are checking the gums for any gum recession and gingivitis. And also checking for any wobbly teeth or teeth with holes in them, these would be the ones we would have to remove. The vet then uses a scaler to remove all the tartar from the teeth and a polishing machine with Prophy Paste to help remove the staining and make their teeth shiny and white again.
It is important to brush your dogs teeth as a build up of plaque, causes gingivitis and can go onto Periodontal disease. It is estimated that over 80% of dogs over the age of three have periodontal disease, this is an inflammation or infection of the tissues surrounding the teeth. If left untreated this can cause dogs to have painful teeth and gum problems.
