You cannot put a value on experience. Our specialist-led independent referral centre carry years of experience - that often means reaching a diagnosis more quickly, and with less tests.

Our medicine team were recently able to treat a cat suffering with FIP as, been independent, medicine and investigations are kept affordable for clients meaning better options for referring vets.

It’s announcement time, and we have been wanting to tell you for what feels like weeks!!

We are delighted to let you all know we will be expanding our team in June this year.

Joining us as Head of Internal Medicine is Rebecca Littler, Specialist in Small Animal Medicine.

Rebecca is well known in the North West and has led and is renowned in the fields of gastroenterology and all things medical. She has lectured nationally and internationally and will be the keynote speaker in our referral stream at BVA Live next week!

She will be leading our service and is excited to offer the personal, independent specialist care people want.

Working alongside our surgical, dental, imaging and cardiology teams we are pleased to see Peninsula Veterinary Referrals leading from the front to provide high quality independent veterinary referrals!

We are delighted to announce we have been asked to provide a lecture stream at BVA Live in June, recognising our teams expertise!

We will be doing lectures for the thousands of vets attending on the following areas;

Referral Practice:
Independent Veterinary Referrals and the Future.

Diagnostic Imaging/Orthopaedics:
CCL - What do radiographs tell me?

Medicine:
Chronic vomiting and diarrhoea: using a problem based approach to achieve the best possible outcome.

Surgeon Rory was hard at work today repairing a broken elbow. Surgery like this carries a great outcome with quick and appropriate intervention, it’s where experience really matters. Supported by great nursing and the very best in imaging equipment, we have given the bone every chance to heal! A Beautiful job well done Team Peninsula

Surgeon Tom and specialist anaesthetist Chris (assisted by our great nurses) were hard at work this week performing a delicate surgery (1 of many procedures including fractures and BOAS) on the inside of a dogs head to remove a complex mass affecting the ventral bulla and near the skull bone.

Having specialist anaesthesia is critical in these cases, and allows the surgery team to focus on the complexities of the surgery, under the experienced eye of Tom, an Advanced Practitioner in Surgery.

Tom and Chris have been vets for a combined 62 years and in these cases, experience really matters!

As a referral centre we are proud to be available when you need us. This evening we took an emergency neurology referral from a local practice.

Extensive blood and urine tests and a CT scan has been performed prior to treatment. We hope to see some improvement in our poorly patient by the morning!
