With this heatwave looking to last over the next few days, and the internal temperature of my grooming room heading beyond 30C with all the doors and windows open, please be aware that, in the interest of your dog's welfare, I shall be initiating my hot weather policy. So, you may have some damp patches on your dogs (under ears etc), as I'll only subject them to the heat of the dryers for long enough to dry them to the point I require to groom them neatly, and no more. Your dog's welfare will always be my absolute priority.
Please, please look after your furry ones in this heat. Ensure plentiful water, shade, cool pads, and only walk early morning or late evening, out of the sun. Keep an eye on the temperatures too, and if you're unsure as to whether it's too hot to walk your dog, put on your thickest jumper, take off your shoes and socks, and if you have a bracycephalic (flat faced) breed, such as a shih tsu, pug, French bulldog etc, add a covid mask too. If you can handle a 15 minute walk dressed like that, it's probably ok 😉 Seriously though, if the temperature is heading towards 25C or over, your dog will be in certain danger of heatstroke. Please, be sensible 🐶❤️
