Mantel Farm is a family run Garden Farming Business located in the heart of the East Sussex countryside. Our shop is open 2 days a week on Saturdays and Sundays 10am – 4pm. Selling poultry, beekeeping equipment, animal housing, animal supplies, feed and equipment. We provide animal boarding services for when you go away and run regular chicken and beekeeping training courses for the beginner.

Our final 'Bee Experience' for the year is on Saturday 20 September.
This is an informal afternoon learning all about the bees in your garden and beyond. Take a look in a working beehive. Find out about the different bees that visit our gardens, from bumblebees to honey bees and hear all about a beekeepers year; from how they look after the hives and harvest the honey.

1-8 September 2025 is Yellow-legged Asian Hornet Week, a week of awareness raising around yellow-legged hornet, led by the British Beekeepers Association (BBKA).

The BBKA aim to raise awareness of the Yellow-Legged Asian hornet as it could decimate our pollinators including our honeybees. It is important for everyone to be actively looking for it. If you spot an Yellow-Legged Asian Hornet, please report it by using the 'Asian Hornet Watch' app available free on both Android and iphone or alternatively you can fill in the online form on the BBKA website.
