☀️‼️☀️With the sudden arrival of this lovely warmer weather. Please keep your pets safe from dangers of the sun and heat…

☀️ 🐶🐾walking dogs early in the morning and later at night to avoid heat stroke and burning their paws on hot pavements. No dog died from missing one walk.
☀️ 🔐check your greenhouses, sheds and garages before locking them up for cats so they don’t get stuck in them.
☀️ 💦keep their water bowls and sources topped up, so they can stay hydrated.
☀️ 🚗never leave any pet in a car even for a few minutes, heat stroke can start very quickly.
☀️😎make sure pets have access to shaded areas and not left in conservatories and hot enclosed spaces without the option to freely move around and leave.

If you become concerned about your pet and suspect they might have heat stroke, please call us during our opening hours (Monday to Friday 8.30am-6pm & Saturdays 9-12) or Vets Now who are available to support you out of hours and over this coming bank holiday weekend are available from Saturday 23rd May midday until we open again on Tuesday 26th May at 8.30am.

Hi, I’m Becky 👋

I’ve been a veterinary nurse for 15 years and have loved animals for as long as I can remember — especially cats! 🐱 At home life is wonderfully busy with my cats, dog, chickens and tortoise, alongside my two young children.

When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me doing CrossFit, out running, or enjoying anything crafty and creative.

Working at Kelston Vets truly is a dream. I feel incredibly lucky to work alongside such an amazing team of people who are not only colleagues, but genuine friends too 💙

Hi, I’m Sara, and I’ve had the pleasure of working at Kelston Vets for the past three years. Before joining the team, I worked in several other veterinary practices, giving me more than 20 years of experience in the profession.

I’ve always had a deep love for animals of all kinds — big, small, furry, and scaly — and I’m passionate about caring for and protecting them. Growing up on a farm, my parents taught me from an early age to respect and care for animals, which inspired the path I chose in life and work.

Over the years, I’ve been lucky to own a wide variety of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, goats, horses, reptiles, and even a royal python called Mushoo! My experience with so many different animals has only strengthened my understanding and appreciation of their individual personalities and needs.

I enjoy every aspect of my role, but I’m particularly passionate about surgical nursing and anaesthesia, where I take great pride in providing attentive care and support for patients throughout their procedures and recovery.

In my spare time I love spending time at home with my partner and animal mad son.

Meet Ruby, our newest RVN! 🐾

Ruby is a Registered Veterinary Nurse who qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing in 2024 and joined the team at Kelston Vets in 2025. She is passionate about animal welfare and loves providing calm, compassionate care to every patient.

Towards the end of 2025 she became Fear Free Certified, Ruby has a particular interest in reducing fear, anxiety and stress in veterinary patients. She particularly enjoys working with larger dogs and cats that appreciate a cuddle. She takes pride in helping pets feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible during their visits. Outside of work, Ruby enjoys spending time with her menagerie of pets and competing with her horse, Cruz.
