☀️🐶 UK HEAT WARNING FOR DOG OWNERS THIS WEEK 🐶☀️

Temperatures across parts of the UK are set to climb as high as 32 degrees ☀️

While it might feel like lovely weather for us, it can quickly become dangerous for our dogs.

A few important reminders to help keep your furry friends safe and comfortable:

🐾 Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s cooler
🐾 Hot pavements can seriously burn paws — place the back of your hand on the ground for 5 seconds; if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them
🐾 Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water
🐾 Make sure pets have access to shade and cool areas indoors
🐾 Never leave dogs in cars — even with windows open, temperatures can become fatal within minutes
🐾 Watch for signs of heatstroke such as heavy panting, excessive drooling, tiredness, vomiting, wobbling, or collapse

Please take extra care this week and help spread the word — a little caution can save lives

🐾 Meet Roxy! 🐾
This lovely girl is Roxy, a 13-year-old Border Collie who recently visited Veterinary Nurse Kelly at our Longwell Green Branch for her Senior Wellness Check 💙
During her visit, Roxy had:
✅ Blood pressure check
✅ Lameness assessment to monitor her arthritis
✅ Weight and muscle condition scoring
✅ Blood testing
These checks are so important in helping us stay on top of our senior pets’ health and ensure they’re as comfortable and happy as possible in their golden years ✨
