Before anyone panics… no, I’m not suggesting your dog starts living exclusively on roast dinners and gravy. But for some dogs, sheep fat can be an absolute game changer when fed sensibly as part of a balanced diet.

🍃 Natural Flea and Tick Treatments 🍃

Flea and tick season is amongst us again...little blighters!

I get asked so often about how to treat for fleas and ticks naturally, and I thought today I’d share with you what we’ve done in our house for over a decade.... and it works a treat!

First thing we do with all our dogs is bathe them during the spring/summer months with Herbal Pet Supplies Lemon Grass & Neem Shampoo. Smells devine and is heavily laden with Lemongrass, neem and lavender which are nature’s own flea and tick inhibitors, they hate the smell!

So that’s step one, the next thing I ALWAYS have to hand is my drops of the same range.
EVERY Sunday each dog gets a few neat drops on the back of their necks. I’m really quite religious about this.

And last but never least, I make up a spray solution of my Lemon Grass & Neem concentrate and water. Usually 5 parts water to one part drops. I think the secret to our family NEVER having fleas or ticks is this.... before we go on walks all dogs are sprayed generously on their backs and round their necks. I’ve even been known to spray us humans as well (keeps the gnats away!) I have a bottle always in the van incase I forget to spray before we leave the house! (Because it’s a busy house) 😂

We all start our walks smelling lovely as well! 😂

Touch wood we’ve not had fleas or ticks on our animals for over a decade.

Note: As a family we do not walk often in areas with cattle, if your family does I’d probably look to double dose before walks to make sure no critters came home with you! Cattle are a hotbeds for ticks....Lyme park especially as they no longer dip the cattle for parasite removal.
