Meet COBI

Say hello to Cobi, the newest member of the Anna's Ark family!

Cobi is a young Labrador × Cocker Spaniel with a wonderfully friendly, gentle nature and a real love of both people and other dogs. Although he's still learning, he's already showing all the qualities we look for in one of our working dogs.

Over the coming months, Cobi will be following in the paw prints of his older siblings, Kelly and Roley, who played a very special role at Anna's Ark. They were our trusted "stooge dogs", helping nervous puppies and new arrivals settle into daycare, supporting training sessions, and teaching young dogs valuable social skills through calm, positive interactions.

As Cobi grows in confidence and experience, he'll begin taking on the same important role. Whether he's welcoming a puppy to their first social session, helping a shy dog build confidence, or simply showing newcomers that Anna's Ark is a safe and fun place to be, he'll be there with a wagging tail and a friendly face.

But before anything else, Cobi is part of our family, and we truly couldn't have wished for a better dog. From the moment he arrived, he settled in as though he'd always been here. He has been incredible with our girls, affectionate and gentle with us, and absolutely adores a cuddle on the sofa after a busy day. He's eager to learn, loves to please, has a wonderfully cheeky side that keeps us laughing, and fills every day with fun.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found him, and we can't wait to watch him grow into his role at Anna's Ark. We know he'll make many lifelong canine friends along the way and continue the special legacy left by Kelly and Roley.

Welcome to the family, Cobi – we're so proud to have you as part of our pack.

💕 Beautiful Rosa came in for her second groom today 💕

Oh, what an absolute angel she was! 🥰 She is so good on the grooming table… although she is very vocal, which had me laughing throughout her groom! 😂 Apparently, Rosa had a lot to say and wanted to chat the entire time. 🐶💬

Cassie came in today for her very first groom with me, and what a pleasure she was! 💛

She was an absolute superstar from start to finish—so relaxed in the bath, perfectly happy on the grooming table, and a joy to work with throughout.

And doesn't she scrub up beautifully? 😍 Such a lovely girl, and I can't wait to see her again for her next pamper!

🐾 A little update from me...

Today I had to turn a dog away because of the condition of their coat, and I'll be honest, it made me quite sad.

This wasn't a first occurrence. We'd already had conversations at the previous appointment about the severity of the matting, why it causes discomfort for the dog, and how important regular brushing and coat maintenance are between grooms. Sadly, despite that advice, the dog arrived in the same heavily matted condition again.

As groomers, we genuinely want every dog to leave looking and feeling amazing. But when a coat is severely matted, our options become very limited. It takes considerably longer, places much greater strain on our equipment, is physically and mentally demanding, and, most importantly, means we have to prioritise the dog's welfare over the style an owner may have hoped for.

For that reason, I will now be introducing a policy that I reserve the right to decline or cancel a grooming appointment if a dog arrives with severe matting, particularly where this is a repeated issue despite advice being given. This isn't about being difficult or judgemental—it's about protecting the welfare of the dog, maintaining the high standard of care I want to provide, and ensuring I can give every client and every dog the time and attention they deserve.

I'm incredibly fortunate to have so many wonderful clients who work with me as a team. They brush their dogs, follow advice, keep to regular grooming schedules, and understand that beautiful grooms start at home as well as in the salon. Those relationships are what make this job such a pleasure, and they're the standard I want to continue building my business around.
