Canine Connexion

Canine Connexion I offer reward based dog training (also known as positive training) in groups, or one to one sessions. I also carry out behaviour consultations.

I have a FdSc degree with Merit in Canine behaviour and training from Bishop Burton College in conjunction with Hull University. At Canine Connexion I endorse and practice reward based/motivational training (also known as 'positive' training). This is a form of training based on the latest techniques and theories in animal science. It uses reward to motivate your dog and assist learning, as oppose

d to punishment or other harsh methods. This promotes a healthy bond between dog and owner without fear or intimidation involved, where your dog will enjoy training and learning new things. Training can be carried out during 'one to one' visits to your home, as part of a suitable group class, or on occasion 'educational walks' where dog and owner can learn in 'real' environments (where safe to do so). Behavioural consultations are also part of my work. These involve an in depth diagnosis of your dog's behaviour problems and a full and personalised training plan to support you in working to resolve any problem behaviour. There is also the option of regular 'hands on' visits to assist you with this process.

This is a six week course for pups up to 6 months of age. Classes are held at Westleigh village hall and cover safe, controlled socialisation with other pups as well as basic training (focus, recall, loose lead walking, stay, sit, down etc.).
