Your dog slowing down, or could there be something more going on?

Less enthusiasm for walks, stiffness after resting or changes in behaviour aren't always just signs of ageing. They could be signs your dog is living with chronic pain.

The good news? Recognising the signs early can help you get them the support they need to stay comfortable and active.

Use our online pain checker to help spot the signs and find out when to speak to your vet: https://ivc.co.uk/services/pain-management

Monday cuteness overload 😍

These are just some of our lovely visitors to the Ashington branch today to see Grant the vet and Abbie on reception.

They were all super brave for their appointments for vaccinations, lump checks, meds for firework anxiety and health checks.

Aren’t they all just gorgeous ❤️

Brave pet story 🤍

One of our lovely patients, Louie, came home from doggy daycare with an unwelcome souvenir!

After initially being seen by our colleagues at Northumberland Park for a red, sore eye, he was sent to Backworth to see our eye savvy vet, Marta.

Using a slit lamp, a specialised piece of equipment that allows vets to examine the cornea in great detail, Marta was able to pinpoint the exact location of the pesky grass seed and remove it quickly and safely.

The good news? No surgery needed, just some eye drops and the dreaded cone of shame, and he will be soon back to enjoying his adventures, hopefully keeping the grass where it belongs. 🙈

Such a brave boy 🩵
