Hart Vets Waddesdon

Hart Vets Waddesdon Improving the lives of pets and their owners Hart Vets Waddesdon cares for pets in Aylesbury and the surrounding villages.

Our mission is to improve the lives of pets and their owners. We are dedicated to providing quality affordable health care with compassion. We care for your pets the same way we would want our own pets to be cared for. Our Waddesdon Aylesbury veterinary surgery is small and friendly. We like to get to know our patients and our small size helps ensure our clients see familiar faces when they visit.

Although we are small, our facilities and equipment rival and exceed many larger practices. For example, we have digital x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy on site. We also have our own in house lab to allow rapid diagnosis, and anaesthetic monitoring equipment like used in human hospitals. We use fluid pumps for all patients requiring fluid therapy which is much safer. Separate cat and dog wards reduce stress for our patients. We operate on-site Monday- Friday in our purpose designed operating theatre. We have an experienced team of vets and veterinary nurses. Hart Vets Waddesdon is an RCVS accredited Small Animal Practice. Our veterinary hospital in Bicester is one of only 241 practices in the country that have met the stringent requirements set by the RCVS to be accredited as a Small Animal Veterinary Hospital. Our out of hours emergency service is provided by our own vets and nurses at our veterinary hospital in Bicester. The data controller is Independent Vetcare ltd, The Chocolate Factory, Keynsham, Bristol, BS31 2AU (ICO reference number Z3212973). We have a Data Protection Officer who can be contacted at [email protected]

✨ Happy Visit Success Story ✨

Meet Margo 💛

A year ago, Margo was absolutely terrified of visiting the vets. She was so frightened that we weren’t able to touch or examine her at all.

With patience, kindness, and lots of happy visits with Nurse Megan, Margo slowly began building trust and confidence. These visits focused on making the clinic a positive, stress-free place, with treats, reassurance, and going at Margo’s pace every step of the way.

Fast forward to today, and what a transformation! 🎉
Margo now comes into the practice much happier, and Megan can touch and handle her all over comfortably, we were even able to vaccinate her with ease recently! We are so proud of how far she has come!

Happy visits and nurse clinics can make such a huge difference for nervous pets, helping them feel safer and more confident at the vets. Well done Margo , you’re a superstar! ⭐

🧦 Baby Sock Appeal! 🧦

We're looking for donations of baby socks for our furry patients! 🐾

Baby socks are perfect for helping keep patients warm and comfortable during anaesthesia and recovery, and they also make excellent covers for paw dressings and foot wounds.

If you have any baby socks that are no longer needed, we'd be incredibly grateful for your donation. Every pair helps us provide a little extra comfort and care to our patients. 💙

Donations can be dropped off at reception.

Thank you for your support! 🐶🐱🧦

☀️🐶 Hot Weather Warning for Pet Owners 🐾

As temperatures rise, please take extra care of your dogs during the heat. Even a short walk or time in the sun can become dangerous very quickly.

Here are some important reminders to keep your pets safe:

💧 Always provide plenty of fresh water
🌳 Walk dogs early morning or later evening when it’s cooler
🔥 Avoid hot pavements, if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws
🚗 Never leave dogs in parked cars, even for a few minutes
🏡 Make sure pets have access to shade and cool areas indoors
🐕 Flat-faced breeds, older dogs, puppies, and overweight pets are especially at risk

⚠️ Signs of heatstroke include:

Excessive panting
Drooling
Lethargy
Vomiting
Collapse

If you notice any of these signs, move your dog somewhere cool, offer water, and contact your vet immediately.

Let’s keep our furry friends safe and comfortable this summer ❤️🐾

🐾 Patient Spotlight: Rodney 🐾

Recently, this lovely boy came into the practice for a cystotomy after investigations revealed a bladder stone causing discomfort and urinary issues. Using X-rays and ultrasound, our team were able to identify the stone before successfully removing it during surgery 💙

Swipe to see:

🐶 And, of course, our very brave patient recovering after his procedure

Bladder stones can cause pain, difficulty urinating, blood in the urine, and recurrent urinary problems. Early investigation is so important, and we’re pleased this handsome boy is now on the road to recovery ✨

A huge well done to vet Lizzie and our nursing team for taking such great care of him throughout the day 🐾💛

We’re incredibly proud of our veterinary nursing team here at Hart Vets. 💙

Our RVNs are often the quiet strength behind every patient journey, offering compassion during difficult moments, reassurance to worried owners, and exceptional care to every animal they meet.

From celebrating recoveries to supporting families through heartbreaking goodbyes, veterinary nurses do so much both seen and unseen. We see their dedication every single day, and we’re so grateful for everything they do for our patients, clients, and team.

If one of our nurses has made a difference to you or your pet, we’d love for you to consider nominating them as part of . 🐾

Thank you to all veterinary nurses everywhere for the kindness, skill, and empathy you bring to the profession every day. 💙

Do you know a veterinary nurse (or veterinary nursing team) who has made a lasting difference? Throughout May, for , BVNA will be inviting veterinary clients and colleagues to shine a light on the registered veterinary nurses (RVNs) and student veterinary nurses (SVNs) who give so much of themselves, often behind the scenes and without recognition.

Perhaps you know a veterinary nurse who has:
✅ Sat with you when your animal was unwell or at the end of their life
✅ Offered kindness, patience, or reassurance when emotions ran high
✅ Treated your pet with dignity, gentleness, and genuine love
✅ Supported you in ways you’ll never forget, even if you never had the words at the time

Nominations are invited from:
✅ Clients, whose lives and animals have been touched by compassionate veterinary nursing care
✅ Colleagues, who witness daily the emotional labour, professionalism, and dedication that often goes unseen

Simply complete a short nomination form highlighting how a veterinary nurse has supported you, your animal, or your workplace. One winner and runner-up will be selected from both individual and team entries, winning a prize worth up to £250!

Thank you for helping BVNA to honour the veterinary nurses who care quietly, selflessly, and wholeheartedly — every single day.

🌟 Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month - Meet Maren! 🌟

Today we’re celebrating Maren, one of our fantastic Registered Veterinary Nurses 🩺💛

Maren qualified in 2015 and, after many years working night shifts in referral practice, returned to first opinion where she is now enjoying building relationships with both clients and their pets. Her experience and calm approach make her a valued member of the team ✨

At home, Maren has two energetic dogs who certainly keep her busy, alongside her lovely cat 🐶🐱 In her spare time, she enjoys going running and doing her best to keep her many houseplants alive 🌿💚

Maren brings so much warmth, dedication, and experience to the practice, and we’re so pleased to have her as part of the team 💛
