All dog professionals should say this; however, we practice what we preach… Not only are we IMDT Canine First Aid trained, but we ensure to have all required first aid equipment to hand during our services. In addition, we are fully insured & DBS checked (proof available upon request). ⚠️ HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY ⚠️
And this doesn’t just relate to the feedback I provide to clients…

I’ll be the first to admit that my life has been very privileged; but I also won’t shy away from emphasising some of the difficulties I’ve faced along the way.
So, read on if you’d like to get to know more about Dog Person (Scott)!
The boring, but semi-insightful stuff:
- ⁠I have a degree in Materials Engineering (BEng) & am a Chartered Manager (CMgr)
- ⁠I’ve lived in Thailand
- ⁠I married my soulmate in 2023, and enjoy nothing more than exploring the world by her side
- ⁠I am an active ambassador for a men’s mental health brand klatchco
- ⁠I rescued a French Bulldog (Dave) in 2018
- ⁠I have a tattoo of Dave on my right tricep
- ⁠I volunteered hundreds of hours to local dog rescues, Dogs Trust & East Midlands Dog Rescue (EMDR)
- ⁠I ran my first marathon in 2025, raising over £1,800 for EMDR
- ⁠It genuinely upsets me every time I see aversive equipment / methods used on dogs… I aim to educate people as to why they should avoid these, as I simply wish to help as many dogs and owners as possible (while prioritising their welfare)

The REAL stuff:
- ⁠I’ve struggled a couple of times with mental health. In 2024, I acted on this and left my ‘successful’ corporate job… This is how Dog Person was created!
- ⁠I’m a serious over-thinker (not all bad, it means I meticulously plan for EVERY eventuality)
- ⁠I still experience imposter syndrome; but now ensure to take time to reflect on the results I provide to combat this
- ⁠Dave is not a ‘robot’ dog, and has many quirks. As a qualified dog trainer, I appreciate dog’s are individual characters, and should simply be trained to their owners desire
- ⁠I celebrate your dog’s progress as much as you. Please keep me updated along your journey (never too many photos & videos)!

10 things every dog owner should do when they see an on-lead dog...
1️⃣ Put your dog on it's lead
It's only fair & safe for both parties to have your dog on their lead (regardless of ‘my dog is friendly’).
Some dogs are reactive (often through no fault of their own), and could have training regression (or an extreme reaction) if off-lead dogs approach them.
2️⃣ Actually, it was just one thing... That is all.
