Why would you take your smooth coated dogs to a grooming salon?

Look at what combed out in the bath! The blaster removed a pile more then we did another comb out while he was still a tiny bit damp. A lot less dog left the salon than arrived!

Next clinic is on Monday 4th May (yes, a Bank Holiday - but a lot of people find it easier to get to me on that day).

After a long period of being fully booked, a small number of spaces have quietly opened up. We’ve sadly lost eight lovely dogs to old age over the past year, and a couple of clients have relocated overseas, America, Australia and South Africa, which makes regular appointments a little unrealistic.

I’ll be welcoming a very limited number of new dogs, and once those spaces are filled, the books will close again.

Here are a couple of tips to prevent your dog from leaving the groomers naked. Matting is made worse by muddy weather, but how you handle it when you get home makes all the difference.

Remember that clippers can only go UNDER the matts - not through them so the tighter the matting is to the skin, the shorter (think bald / naked) your dog will be.

No, the groomer is NOT being lazy, they are removing tight matted fur in the most humane way possible. Brushing it out is something that is the owner’s responsibility on a daily basis at home.

If you’d like your dog to have a fresher smile and neatly trimmed nails, pop a comment below. I have one space left at 9am on the 6th April clinic. If there’s enough interest, I’ll happily open up a second date in April too.

There won’t be a clinic in March as we’re heading off to CRUFTS for the week, which is amazing and completely exhausting in equal measure. I need to go in fresh and ready to work, not running on fumes from back to back teeth clinics and grooms.
