It has been a long time coming but when the arena started to become unrideable , I had to bite the bullet. 17 years since it was first put in quite beautifully by David Humbert’s old company Soft Track , and the amazing Parker family .

Total Equestrian ConstructionTotal Equestrain have done the most beautiful job. It was painstaking slow work , completely stripping the surface and sifting it ,relaying new membrane ,then mixing the old surface with carpet fibre. Plus redoing the whole wooden surround. It was worth it, Dave and Tom worked so hard and long hours in some revolting conditions ,Thank you.

As Racehorse Week ,Great British Racing, comes to a close it is good to look back on a very busy week , starting at the Retraining of Racehorses National championships .

Coming home and straight into prep for our open day . It was the first time we held it on a weekday and were pleasantly surprised to welcome just over 100 visitors , thanks to sterling efforts from the raffle ticket sellers ( I did wonder what strong arm tactics they used 😂) the sale of the cakes after the hotly contested yard bake off we made just under £600 for RoR IJF and Breast cancer . Non off this is possible without all the extraordinarily wonderful volunteers , staff , owners , family.

Following on from the clinic, we will then be holding a thoroughbred only show.

What a busy few months and Easter Holiday! The following set of photos shows many of the retired racehorses here at Harroway, names in comments on each picture. I’m thrilled with how they have wintered ,as all live out .
The teaching has also been busy and rewarding with some good results, however the RoR clinics seem to be creating zero interest. ??
In particular the dressage clinics taken by Claire Moir , it’s a mystery that a LIST 1 judge and world class coach, is giving her time and expertise ,extremely cheaply is having no take up ?

SATURDAY 25th RoR Showing Clinic followed by the now annual unaffiliated show. My Legendary mother JINKS BRYER , is teaching and judging , though I say it myself a treat for everyone. All are welcome to come and watch and learn wether you have a horse or not.
