Some lovelies who've been having garden visits so far this week π₯°
If you're walking your dog out in this heat, don't be surprised if I call you some very colourful words out my window.
It hit 31Β° yesterday. At 7pm it was still 29.5Β° and I saw a lot of locals starting to walk at that time. I did let them know the temperature and just had people smile and laugh to themselves, whilst they failed to realise their dogs were in early stages of heat distress. At 2am it was finally starting to cool down and got to 24Β°. At 4am it was 21.5Β°. Your dogs will not die missing a walk.
I don't monitor the temperature as a hobby or my own benefit. I do it so I can keep track when might be safe to walk and get an idea how hot it will be during the day so I can ensure my pack is kept safe and prevent heat exhaustion as much as possible.
Shame on you local professionals who I've seen out walking in 28Β°. Should be ashamed of yourselves.
I feel so sorry for those whose dogs won't toilet in their garden or don't have a garden and have to quickly run to the nearest patch of grass or drive to a shaded area of grass for the dogs to toilet.
Anyhooo stay safe, stay cool, stay hydrated π
