After a week of barely getting to see any of you wonderful lot, Doxie will be operating as usual without the worry of the heat this week🥳

HOWEVER ⚠️

I will be keeping a close eye on humidity levels and thunderstorm risks. High humidity poses just as many risks as heat. Thunder is a risk too! So walks may be reduced to shorter or on lead walks only if needed. Pups, seniors, medicated, post ops, brachys, chunkies and the energetic are most at risk so if your dog falls into any of those categories I'll be keeping an extra close eye on them and would encourage you to do the same!

Boris and Walter enjoyed the dog park on Friday when it was actually cool enough to go out! 😍 They are loving munching on the sweet spring grass!

Does anyone local to Albrighton or surrounding areas offer any UK sniffer dog, light detection work or any kind of scent work suitable for an anxious daxie?

Ella is healing beautifully after her surgery and I'll be interested in looking into fun scent work for her in the near future. We get signed off by the vets at the end of the week all going well and I'll keep her exercise light until she heals fully. Just wanting to explore options are about in the area ☺️

The extreme temperatures forecast today present very real risks for dogs, please keep them cool and safe at all times. Expect them to struggle even if they’re usually ok and take extra precautions.

As well as the health risks, we know bites sadly increase in hot weather too. Please take all possible measures to keep your dog and others safe, this is so important. Remember any dog can bite.

It's going to be a scorcher today, if anyone is home please let me know as it's gonna have to be toilet let outs only in this heat with highs of 32/33° expected.

Highly recommend your cool coats, paddling pools, frozen lick mats/kongs, hosing down and just keeping indoors as much as possible today with the curtains shut and fans on.

Please remember the updated first aid for heatstroke is to cool first, transport second! Stay safe! 💜
